New and Moving to Austin

Hello ladies.

I am moving from New England to Austin. Born and Raised in Southern California, so I am Texas dumb lol. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the Marquis SHoreline apartments.. We were planning to move there in April also my new OB would be at renaissance womens group. They said I would deliever at North Austin Medical Center. Does anyone have any feedback or reviews on any of these places. I am a FTM and hoping that I picked the right places for the Austin area without actually being there. Thank you!! :D

  • Know nothing about the Apts but NAMC is awesome! I'm going to be having my third there next month. You should check out Dr cowan at Austin area obgyn. He is in NAMC and I promise you would love him!! My husband has only missed two ob apps between all three pregnancies because even HE thinks he's awesome! Lol!

  • I will be delivering at north austin in July :)

I used to use Renaissance women's group but switched to austin diagnostic clinic. I just didn't click with my ob.
  • I have been seeing Dr. Cowan as well and his practice is right there in the hospital. He is great and my husband likes him too. I have heard nothing but good things about the maternity unit at the hospital.

I do not know anything about the apartment complex except that I live in the same neighborhood. I really like the neighborhood.  There is a large trail, pond, 2 pools, parks, disc golf course, ect. and the apartment complex is within walking distance of all that.

I am not sure where you are going to be working but if you are working down south you may want to reconsider where you live.  My husband and I work down south and it takes me on a good traffic day about 45 minutes to get to the exit right past downtown. On a bad traffic day it can be over an hour. We own our house though (and love it) so we deal with the commute, they are building a toll way so in a year it might get better. If you don't have to drive during rush hour it's only 20 minutes to downtown which is really nice.
  • I am going to be working in Round Rock. Is the traffic bad there?

Round rock isn't too bad for traffic :)

No heading north from wells branch is actually good so traffic shouldn't be a problem. Wells Branch is really convenient to the major highways (mopac and I-35) which is really convenient too.
  • @sngsoprano1‌ not a problem. Welcome to wells branch. Were both due in Oct too I think ;) we can meet up sometime. I've lived here on and off since 1999. My sister actually lives down the street too. It's a nice quiet area.
