What's everyone reading?

I just finished "All Joy and No Fun" by Jennifer Senior which was fantastic.

Before that I read "Little Bee", but as the mom of a toddler I found it a little too depressing and had a hard time reading it.

Before that I read Neil Gaimon's "The Ocean at the End of the Lane" and I absolutely loved it. I think I read it in two days. So for the ladies who love fantasy stuff that happens in real life- @TJ1979‌ and @itsmevkb‌, you have to check this one out.

Any other book suggestions?

Not reading anything this minute, but thinking about downloading some for our vacation next month. I recently read "The Fault in Our Stars" which I thought was good, pretty heavy and a little teen angst, but I would recommend it! I also liked "Defending Jacob" and anything by Jodi Picoult (most recently "The Storyteller").

I need to get back to reading books and not just magazines.  I have a couple on my Amazon wishlist but haven't bought them because I'm afraid I won't actually read them.  I've been so lazy lately.  Or, maybe lazy isn't the right word, busy with other stuff AND I don't want to read depressing books and that seems to be all I find.  Of course, those also tend to be the best ones but I just haven't been in the mood for "heavy" topics.

I love Jody Picoult too!

I just finished Unbroken by Laura hillenbrand. It was amazing, so good! It's about to be a movie directed by Angelina Jolie. But it's the real story of a WWII fighter pilot. I'm usually not a big fan of nonfiction, but this one was great.

I was OBSESSED with this book TJ, absolutely amazing.

I'm so impressed that you all have time to read books. Like REAL books!

I mostly read magazines - WSJ magazine, Opera News magazine - but those only when I have some alone time, eg, waiting for my hair appt. Which doesn't happen often. M absolutely won't let me read anything on my own when he's around... he WANTS to read whatever magazine I'm reading.

Other than that, at night I read a lot of articles on arts/culture/classical music/food/travel via my twitter feed - mostly from NYT, WSJ, and FT.  I favorite the articles during the day and try to catch up reading them at night. 

As for a real book, the last I read was Fearless Feeding. Next one in line is Love and Logic. I bought it already but haven't read it yet.

I just finished The Memory Keeper's Daughter.  It was ok, but I took a break from it too long for me to be really into it.  It wasn't something that I couldn't put down or anything.

I just re-read the 2nd hunger games book. I am generally more of a non-fiction reader myself - I absolutely loved Unbroken too!! I am excited to hear that it will be made a movie @TJ1979, such an amazing story! But mostly I have been reading my anatomy & physiology textbook....riveting stuff.

I just ordered Divergent (1st book) and Uganda be Kidding Me Chelsea Handler's books are a guilty pleasure of mine. Her books make me laugh until my stomach hurts!

I just finished the second book in the Crossfire series. It's like 50 shades of Grey, but SO much easier to read. The writing is much better, the characters more believable, and sex is not as disturbing. It's still very kinky, but it's entertaining and it's a quick read.

I've been reading IF books lately. I finished The Pursuit of Family and enjoyed it. Now I am reading Infertility Inferschmility and Silent Sorority. Before those, I read the Monument 14 series. They are young adult so easy peasy to read. The third comes out in May.  I loved the Divergent books.

I am reading the Goldfinch now, but it is painfully long (over 700 pages).  It would be a good story in about 300 pages!  I am struggling to finish it now.  

I also loved Divergent, but didn't really like the third one.  For people who like that genre (young adult dystopian) also really liked the Psion books (Psion Beta, Psion Gamma, Psion Delta, Psion Alpha).  

Next on my list is Me Before You and The Fault in Our Stars.

The third divergent made me angry. Loved the first two! I'm reading night circus with my BMB and our secret goodreads group. So far so good!

I loved Night Circus. I actually stole my baby's name from that book too- Isobel.

I am a mystery lover. I am reading Speaking From Among the Bones. The 4th in the Flavian De Luce series (an 11yo detective). They can be hilarious and I love them.

I am also into The Divergent right now. I just read book 1 for my book club, didn't know if I would like it but LOVED it. I ordered number 2 yesterday and am legit pissed that I didn't order it ahead of time and now have to wait until Tuesday till it arrives!

For anyone looking for a good book; it came out a few years ago but Gone Girl was fantastic!

Anyone know if Gillian Flynn's other books are as good?

@kmc84 - Gillian Flynn books are good but very, VERY dark. So just be aware if you decide to order. Gone Girl was really tame compared to her other books.

I just downloaded the first two Divergent books for my trip - thanks for the suggestion everyone and for posting @CarrieB. !

Also- has anyone read "The Light Between Oceans"? Just DL that too because I've heard good things...
