Bed Rest:(

I was officially put on bed rest this week due to my cervix shortening to now under 2:( I'm pretty devastated but am hoping to find the light at the end of the tunnel. Anyone else on bed rest? I was crying all day yesterday while trying to make sub plans for the rest of the school year for my 3rd graders. I feel like I'm abandoning them:( Ladies that were on crinone what are your experiences? We started that to hopefully maintain the length or even increase it. Thanks for listening, Alicia
Started ttc may 2012 Me:32. Dh:31 SA- 4% morphology Fsh:9.1 possibly not always ovulating Hysteroscopy/lLap 7/13 resulted in polyp removal, uterine septum, and mild endo stage 1 removed 10/13 IVF #1 successful

    I can totally relate. I'm a 2nd grade teacher and when I was put on bed rest back in September we were just starting the year and I was so stressed about it. Planning out the rest of the school year is a huge undertaking. I'm in the middle of doing my plans for my leave. So I can imagine the stress of everything is overwhelming. Try to keep everything in perspective. Your students will be fine and should be the least of your worries. Stay focused on keeping yourself mentally busy so that you can keep that LO cooking away.     Oct 12 - Jan 14: 3 clomid/TI cycles, 2 hysteroscopies, 2 IUIs, 1 BFP (MMC @ 12w), 2 more IUIs
    Feb 14: Gonal-f + IUI #5 = BFP! (EDD 11/4/14)
    Baby boy arrived 11/13/14!

    Ugh, that stinks. Just keep your eyes on the prize.... It will all be worth it in the end!

    Me: 42. DH: 46.

    1st Pregnancy: MC, 11/19/00.

    2nd Pregnancy: DS born 04/10/06.

    3rd Pregnancy: CP, 03/11.

    4th Pregnancy: MMC, D&C 11/30/11, Genetic testing revealed Trisomy 4.

    5th Pregnancy: Ectopic, 2 doses of Methotrexate unsuccessful, surgery 4/10/12, right tube removed.

    Tried Letrozole January 2013-July 2013 (including 2 IUIs), all BFN.  After 2 1/2 years of trying for child #2, decided to "give up" after July cycle, based on AMA.

    August 16, 2013:  BFP our first month of "not trying!"  Still in shock.  Beta #1 (14dpo): 183.  Beta #2 (17dpo):  611.  Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm! 
    Ultrasound 9/13/13:  8 weeks, heart rate of 176!
    Baby is due 4/26/14

    Bedrest just plain sucks!  I'm on week 11 :(  My advice is to find things to keep you busy or you will go crazy and have as many visitors from the outside world as possible.  Did they mention the possibility of a cerclage or a pessary at all?  I got my pessary at 21w3d for short cervix.  I was not eligible for a cerclage due to twin pregnancy (I guess the research suggests it can do more harm than good for twins).  Also was put on prometrium then as well.  Hang in there, feel free to PM me or anything if you want to vent :)

    Also, I know that the MFMs wont give medication to decrease contractions until you hit viability, but its definitely something to discuss with them, even if you cant feel them or they arent painful...they could be contributing to the shortening (I have yet to have an actual painful contraction and I have 0.4cm of cervical length left...probably less at this point because they stop checking at 28 weeks).

    DH:MFI-Low morph (1%), DNA fragmentation: Excellent!
    5 rounds of clomid, 3 IUIs, and multiple non-medicated cycles- BFFN                                                      
    IVF with ICSI in August 2013 brought us our babies.  ER-9R, 7M, 4F w/ICSI  ET of 2-Grade 2 blasts. 
    + HPT at 6dp5dt. #1 (8dp5dt)- 105    #2 (13dp5dt)- 510  #3 (15dp5dt)- 960  #4 (17dp5dt)- 1889
    Dx shortened cervix, PTL, and preeclampsia during pregnancy.  Lots of medications and 13 weeks of bedrest, babies were born healthy at 34w4d!

    Thanks ladies. If it wasn't for this board half the time I'd think I was nuts. @monimu13 as of this next week it's just bed rest and crinone and a lot of other over the counter vitamins and products. I was very overwhelmed at the apt. And am looking forward to Thurs. when I am calmer. He didn't think a cerclage was a good idea at this point because I think he thinks the uterus is contracting or is bothered and a cerclage could cause contractions due to the force. While it's shortening it is still hard and not funneling. We will evaluate again next Thursday. After I also have a kidney and gull bladder u/s done for other pain I've had. I have heard nothing but good things about my new MfM doc from family members and online and I liked him a lot. It felt like being back at the RE's office where you had a relationship with them. I've heard he also makes house calls because he cares that much. So, hoping he can keep this little one in:) You give me hope. 11 weeks has had to be rough but will be worth it in the end. How is the pessary? I've read they are really uncomfortable, a Only good thing about going weekly I have got to see baby in 4d the last 2 weeks!

    Gotcha, I do have funneling, and have for a while..but not dilated that I know of. There are several types of pessaries, they initially put in an inflatable one that I did not tolerate at all...very painful, can fall out when pooping if you push too hard, much more gross discharge, hard to pee, etc. They switched me after 24 hours to a different one called Smith-Hodge. Once this is placed, can't feel it at all....I'd totally recommend this one if they give a pessary as a choice. It all sucks, but definitely worth it :)

    That sucks but T&P that a bit of rest is all you need.
    Me 29 DH 30 Unexplained IF TTC since wedding May 2012. IUI #1 11/5/13-BFN.  IUI #2 12/5/13-BFN. IUI #3-12/30/14. All three with Femara CD 3-7 and Ovidrel trigger. +HPT 1/13/14 First +ever!!! Beta #1 195 Beta #2 1/15-533. Ultrasound on 2/4 showed one bean. EDD 9/22/14. Team Green turned Team Blue-Baby Conner arrived on 9/19/14.
