Special Weekly Check-In For The **Over 40** Crowd

This is a special weekly Thursday check-in for all of us who have crossed into our 40's. We all hang out on TTC after 35, but we all know that once you hit your fabulous 40's and are TTC it is just different.

There is a regular Weekly Check In on Wednesdays for all on this board, so feel free to post on both check-ins if you like. If you are completely new to the TTC after 35 board and haven't done a formal intro please do that before posting here!

3. Where are you in your cycle? If in the 2ww when will you test? (Waiting to O, 2WW etc)

2. Trying for first since 2009. In treatment with RE since 2012

3. BCP prep for IVF #2

4. IVF # 2 and PGD. Depending on response this may be a banking cycle.

5. Weekly Vent – My company is switching 401k providers. This morning I registered online for my account and had to take a short quiz about my lifestyle, investing style, etc. One of the questions was to select my “Life Stage.” For my age range this is what it said…”Family years: I have a spouse and/or one or more children (age 35-45).” I was really annoyed to see that not only do they refer it as the family years, but there was no option for that age range that did not include having children, hell for that matter there was no option for not having a spouse either. Do they really believe everyone from 35 to 45 has a spouse and children???? My only option was to choose none of the above life stages apply to me. And geez thanks for reminding me of my lack of children when obviously in that age it is considered the standard. Epic Fail, New Company, Epic.

NTA – I’m not shy about trying new and exotic foods, but while travelling in Spain a waiter convinced me to have roasted goat. It was downright awful. I will never do that again!

3.  In 2WW, test scheduled for 3/21

4. Clomid + Trigger + TI for this cycle, going IUI next cycle (if necessary - which I feel it will be)

5. Nothing really bothering me this week...  guess I'm lucky.

NTA - I try lots of different things, for most part not afraid to try new foods- and strangely enough, I can't think of anything - but will edit if something comes to me...

This is my first post here (my 40th birthday is Wednesday, but I'll be on vacation and not posting that week).  Hope it's OK to post now!

3. Started 2WW today.  Will test when I get back to town the week after next.
4. Natural for now.  Will get RE referral if this cycle doesn't work.
5. My office neighbors, the office gossip and the company webinar aficionado, seem to be having a competition to see who can be noisiest.  I like them both, but I'm ready for some peace and quiet!

NTA. Tendons?  Tripe?  My husband is an adventurous eater, and I'll usually try a little of whatever he has...I actually really like goat meat!

@PrivateOne, I would be irked by that, too.  Not only is it quite the affront to everyone who isn't married/doesn't have children (a LOT of people, for a LOT of different reasons), I'm a little confused as to why the "Family Years" don't start until 35 and apparently end at 46.  So many assumptions.  So many questions...

3. Benched (my/our choice) for a bit following a miscarriage in January, deciding whether to get back in gear and try naturally this cycle (this week) or wait for next AF to call RE and finally do Clomid challenge test

4. We had only been doing natural, but contemplating IVF

5. Weekly Vent: It's snowing today. It shouldn't be.

NTA: I went to a Brazillian Barbecue place where they come to your table with skewers of all different types of meat and I'm sure I consumed something that did not come from a chicken, pig, or cow, though I don't remember. I'm not very adventurous, so trying eel for the first time at a sushi restaurant was enough for me!

I pregnant friend keeps rubbing me the wrong way. I know the issue is we me, not anything she's doing wrong, but I'm having trouble letting it go. I hope you're right that the confession will help.

I had this dish at a Chinese restaurant with a vague English description. It had some sort of jelly like noodles. The server actually asked my friend (in Chinese) whether I'd actually eat it.

@Samuelismomma I'm dealing with something similar right now. I'm doing my best to remember that other people's reproduction has nothing to do with me, but it's hard sometimes.

@annslisel yeah I know not my business but she dates only meth dealers and all 3 now will have different father's . Its for welfare...and I see the ladies here and think WHY:(

My mother the martyr. So unhappy and depressed about things in her life she has the ability to change and she won't do anything about it.

@privateone it does make me so mad. The day I found out I was a wreck all day:( She uses the babies to get money off my friend's sister:( of course he is furious too) 3 kids 4 and under and she is like 21...and state keeps them up and boyfriends end up up in jail for meth. I thought of you and Becky specifically and said to my H it's so not fair;(

@BeckyP005, thanks!! We're going to New Orleans for a long weekend--impulse trip to celebrate (although not sure if "celebrate" is exactly the right word ) turning 40. I'm super excited about the trip part at least!

@BeckyP005, will definitely update when I get back!  The only part I'm not looking forward to so much is that I'm bringing my FRERs.  Ah, well.
