I'm curious how many people on this board are still breastfeeding. Here's a questionnaire of sorts:
How old is LO?
Have you found that nursing has changed since your BFP?
Do you plan to wean before the baby is born, tandem nurse, or play it by ear?
DS is 18 months. I find that he still wants to nurse, but once he's on the breast, the sessions are a lot shorter now that I'm pregnant. He switches a lot more between breasts and doesn't stay on for more than 30 seconds, maybe a minute.
I don't want to tandem nurse. I would love at least three months where I am not nursing any child. I need a break. I think I'm going to try to night wean in a few weeks. I'm dreading it, but DS is up at least two to three times each night, and I need him to sleep better. I'm hoping night weaning will help with that.
Re: Anyone currently breastfeeding
My son was around 18 months - 2 years while I was pregnant.
My nipples became supper sensitive and breastfeeding became very uncomfortable during my pregnancy.
Currently tandem nursing.
Have you found that nursing has changed since your BFP? She seems to be nursing more frequently for shorter periods of time, so I think my supply may have dipped.
Do you plan to wean before the baby is born, tandem nurse, or play it by ear? I wanted to wean her two months ago, so I'm still working on it. Hopefully it will work out soon.
Have you found that nursing has changed since your BFP?
Yes! Night nursing is very painful, so we've begun gently night weaning. Otherwise, still going strong.
Do you plan to wean before the baby is born, tandem nurse, or play it by ear?
I would like to tandem, but I suspect that DS will wean by the time #2 arrives. He'll be nearly 3, night weaned, and he has already cut down a lot on nursing. So we'll see! Stick us in the "playing it by ear" category.
