27 mm follicle!

Went in for early u/s today due to positive opk- I have a 27 mm follicle! They had me trigger tonight and iui in morning , anyone have experience with one this big ? RE office said it's still a possible , thoughts?

    Wow thats great! I had my IUI on March 1 and I had 4 follicles measuring 22, 24, 27 and 34! I dont think it worked (had nothing to do with size of my follies I think i have other issues going on :/
    But my dr and my acupuncturist said they are great sizes. Good luck!! :-)

    March 2012-June 2012 - IUI's- BFN

    Sept 2012= IVF #1- 14 eggs, 9 fert, no frosties. 2 blasts 5dt=BFN
    Oct/Nov 2012= IVF #2- 20 eggs, 14 fert, no frosties. 2 blasts transferred despite mild OHSS=BFN
    Nov 2012= hubby got transferred, moving to new state, time for a break until summer!
    Feb 2013= Natural BFP!! Valentine's day surprise! 
    Mar 2013= m/c @ 7.5 weeks :(

    *New RE*
    July 2013= ER for a freeze all cycle. 21 eggs, 9 fert, freeze all day 1.
    Lab is closed in August! (Of course!) 
    Sept 2013= FET #1 - transferred 3 not so great quality day 3 embies=BFN
    Oct 2013= FET #2- transferred 4! 3 good, 1 poor= BFP! On hubby's birthday :)
    Started bleeding at 5w5d. ER trip confirms one gest sac, one yolk sac, no fetal pole. 6w u/s showed nothing. Levels drop from 4,500 to 250. 
    Nov.2013=meet with RE to discuss where to go from here.
           *Tests showed PCOS-ish. High testosterone. Start Metformin 1500 mg.
    February 2014- CLomid, IUI, Trigger. 4 juicy and ripe follies (24,25, 28 and 34!) 111 million post wash sperm count. BFFN!!!! WTH?
    March 2014- Over my RE. Year of fun for us and looking into RMANJ.

    We had a large one so DH asked. RE said they CAN get too big/overmature...but i am not really what size that would need to be to be considered "over mature"

    Me: 40, DH: 42
    Diagnosis: PCOS
    TTC: May 2013
    TX: IUI #1 with Follistim. Canceled due to too many follicles (10 + that were large); BENCHED
    IVF #1 March 6. 14 eggs retrieved, 10 fertilized. 
    March 11, 4 eggs transferred.
    March 21 BFP  :) Beta #1 457, Beta #2 1350, Beta #3 9619. 
    Due Date November 27, 2014

    I remember the excitement/nervousness the night before. Never did an IUI with one that big, but I am hoping that you have a successful IUI.

    Last cycle one of my mature follies was at 25mm and they thought that was really good, so 27 seems great. However, i was told that 30mm and above is considered a cyst. maybe i'm wrong but that's what i was told. Good luck with your IUI!!
    TTC #1 since Sept. 2012

    June 2013: Start IF testing
    Me: Bloodwork and ultrasound all normal. Normal cycles and ovulation
    Me: HSG Sept. 2013 All clear
    DH: High viscosity, lowish numbers, but not horrible. First SA, count was 40 mill, second SA, count jumped to 80 mill. low morph. Tried mucinex for viscosity issue from June- Nov.

    Dec 2013: Clomid 50mg + Trigger + IUI #1 = BFN
    ^^ 5 mature follicles all over 20mm, lining was at 7. Post wash had low numbers

    Jan 2014: Clomid 50mg + Trigger + IUI #2 = BFN
    ^^2 mature follies on each side, lining was only at 5.5. Great sperm sample post wash

    Feb 2014: 2.5 mg of Femara + Trigger + IUI #3 on Valentine's Day! = BFN
    ^^ 3 mature follicles on right side 25mm, 24mm and 21mm, Lining at 10mm!!!!!! HUGE improvement

    March 2014: 2.5mg Femara + Follitism + Trigger + IUI = BFN
    ^^ 1 (possibly 2) follies, 9mm lining
