IMO (and this may be UO) an OB's office that will tell you to not take a med free birthing class and do a birth class + pain management class instead is truly not supportive of your wishes to go med free.
The point of doing a home study and starting it before labor is to learn the techniques so you don't forget them. I think it's possible to be overwhelmed with labor and have some difficulties managing, but that's okay.
And as far as interventions, I chose Hypnobabies specifically because they are not anti intervention. My ultimate goal is a baby that comes into this world safely. I would love to deliver her med and intervention free, but L&D is unpredictable and babies are unpredictable.
