I had my daughter in February. This baby is due at the end of May, and I'm not sure what to buy. Do I just dress baby as I would dress myself, or does she need warmer clothes? Thanks Ladies!
Layers are good, even for summer babies. Regular onesies, newborn basics, etc are good. If you want to use cute summer clothes you can, just bring other layers or blankets to help her from getting too cold or too warm.

My April baby wore mostly onesies as a newborn (light sleepers at night) and those little one piece jumper things pretty much all summer. That was in the South though. I'm sure this guy will be dressed similarly for much of the summer. A brand new baby may need slightly warmer clothes than you but by a few months they don't really.
I dressed my June baby as I would and always had a receiving blanket in the diaper bag in case she seemed chilly. It was a very hot summer so we only used the blanket when we went somewhere with air conditioning.
I've had a May and a June baby. Onesies and soft cotton pants are a must and rompers are great. Remember that in the summer you're likely to be in places with the A/C running (which is why I always have pants on hand. if you don't run A/C at home and your house is warm, she may just sleep in a onesie but have cotton jammies as well.
I just read somewhere that you want to feel your baby's skin in different spots (not just their arms or legs) to see if they are too warm or too cold and it will help you know if your baby needs more layers or is too warm.
