Still here! There were a few nights where Lily only woke once, which was great, but the last couple nights she's been waking up her usual amount. She is getting some of her 2 year molars, so I think that's part of it.
I had someone ask me yesterday when I planned on weaning and it made me uncomfortable. I still don't have an end date in mind and I know people are surprised by it.
Other than that, we're just plugging along as usual.
I weaned Sawyer a few weeks ago, I'm still a little sad. Just wanted to say that I always enjoyed these check ins and congratulations to all of you for making it this far. See ya around!

DD is still being stubborn (and so am I, I guess) about this feed at like 5am. I swear I have no milk left & it really hurts when she latches. But she asks to sit in her chair & I just can't say no.
I need to send MH in instead, b/c he is like the baby whisperer & gets her back to sleep in no time. But, I feel bad b/c DS is a poor sleeper & he's usually up with him a couple times a night, plus he's up for the day around 6.
I've got another week of procrastination till she turns 18 months, which I said was my cut off!
This is my last breastfeeding check in we had our last feeding over the weekend. He is doing great and I am so proud of him. I will definitely miss it, but am at peace with it as well. Congrats to all of us for making it this far!
Both kids slept through the night for the first time ever a week+ ago. (It happened to be the first day of using amber necklaces - coincidence or not, those bad boys are never coming off).
They STTN three days straight. DS woke on the fourth night once. I didn't offer. He needed a cuddle for 5 minutes and then I was able to put him back down, no issue. I was in shock. We haven't turned back.
We still have our before nap and before bed sessions. I'm not sure how to handle them.
So far we've weaned on their schedule. I always happen to be thinking about how to cut a session, but they do it in some way on their own as I drag my feet about it.
I would really like to be done by May. Maybe having my sitter put them down can start the process at some point. I don't know how I'm going to go about it. Either way, I'm really happy with how things are going and our breastfeeding relationship in general. It's been a really good experience for us.
Did you do anything different other than the necklaces? I have one, but I wonder if I need to switch to your brand if it helps kids STTN.
ERy and I are still here. Just got back from our monthly breastfeeding support meeting. He turns 18 months on Saturday.
He nurses morning, 5 pm, and before bed on weekdays and I send breastmilk to school. I'm going to introduce cow's milk some time in the next week or so because my stash is running out. I usually pump one side in the morning for daycare milk but E's been asking for it (probably since my supply is less than what it once was) so I'm giving it to him instead and then pulling from the stash.
I've been doing my lactation homework every night; pretty exhausting but I've learned so much about supporting moms.
@mrsmanny 18 or so months is no small feat! Congrats mama!
Hey @linzeek44 I have to have some teeth filled tomorrow, I didn't even think about the novacain, is that safe when nursing? I'm going to call my pedi tomorrow, but thought you might know?
Holly- lidocaine and bupivacaine (that might be spelled wrong) are considered pretty safe. The place with the most up to date med stuff is infant risk line. I've found pedis and drs will say pump and dump to be conservative but infant risk can tell you details about it metabolizing and half lifes. 806.352.2519
@harti09 yep, generally if they are getting 12-15 ounces of breastmilk and a well rounded solids diet, there's not really need for milk. They say 3-4 nursing sessions, but if you think they are only each getting an ounce or if they are getting six ounces a session, that would vary, you know?
Technically if you did no breastmilk but plenty of full fat dairy (3 or 4 servings a day) and a well rounded diet you wouldn't need any milk.milk is just the convenient packaging of lots of good for you things.
