Supply tanked and cannot get back up......

Long story short, I have been on Fenugreek since LO was 2 weeks old due to an illness just after LO was born which impacted my supply. Each time I try to step down slowly from Fenugreek my supply suffers so I have remained on the 12 pills a day. I used to pump extra and have a small freezer stash left. LO is nearly 10 months. I stopped using lefty as she could not keep up and LO refused her for months. I was pumping to keep her up but did not sustain this as it was to hard juggling work, LO and home life. Rightly was keeping up, each feed around 5-6oz until very recently.

I got my period back at 6mo PP and have had it every 35 days since. This is PP period #4 and my supply has tanked the worse ever and has not come back. I have increased the fenugreek in the last few days and no change. LO feeds 4 times a day, 5AM, 9AM, 2PM and again for bed around 6:30PM. Recently I have had to supplement at all feeds except the 5AM and when I have pumped that feed (as I work part time and have a sitter for LO) I am getting around 3oz after 4 hours - horrible!

I have ordered some Blessed Thistle from Amazon but still waiting for it as I cannot get locally, even from the LC stores.

I am drinking tons of water, drinking Mothers Milk tea, only have 1 half caf coffee a day and eating well (and snacking). I have oatmeal and flax every day for breakfast and LO has just started to sleep through the night, from 7-5 so I have recently dropped a feed. I have been stressed of late, stressed with DH and it has been going on for a few weeks. I know that is not good for supply so I am trying to move on from my issues.

What else can I try? I want to get to 12 months and I am so close but I am getting really low on supply and have to supplement 3 of the 4 feeds.

Sounds like you've been working very hard to keep up. Two things you might try: supplement with calcium and magnesium to counter ovulation and AF-related supply drops. It helps me so much I just stay on it all the time. Second, maybe try power pumping for a few days?

I take mag and calcium already and have done so for months. Power pumping....how does that work? I will have to supplement a lot on those days right?? ..... And thanks!!

So my body will not just make more milk at the time I power pump, but make more in general. Seems counter intuitive but I will give it a shot. Thanks for the info!!

Thanks again, I am already 1 session done. Can I do it twice a day though to give a big boost???
