My almost 3 year old son has the Nabi 2... I think the games are a little advanced for a 3 year old.... is the Nabi Jr more realistic for a 3 year old? If so what games come preloaded on the Jr
Don't have the Nabis, but when we researched getting DS1 a tablet, we ended up getting a Kindle Fire. It has books and games for 2 year olds and will grow with him until well past the point where it is technically obsolete. For around the same price (or less) then the kid-specific tablets, it seemed like a good option, and the parental controls on Freetime are great. The included apps update themselves as your child gets older, so the content stays age appropriate. Friends have one that their 3 and 10 year old share, and both have plenty of age appropriate activities on the same device (different Freetime accounts).
My two year old has a nabi jr. and we also have the nabi 2s and nabi XDs for our older kids. The jr. is definitely more age appropriate for toddlers. On the 4gb nabi jr. it comes with ABC, ABC Coloring, Alphabet, another alphabet puzzle type of game, Angie's Juke which has songs like the Ants Go Marching, London Bridges, Do you know the muffin man, Mary Had a Little Lamb etc. Then there is Animal Sounds, Animals matching, animated puzzles, Classical juke (music) Differences, Dinosaurs, drawing, Find me, First words, Fun counting (which my son loves), Magic coloring, Magic garden, Monster matching, Music with songs by Laurie Berkner (my son loves these) several puzzles, tangrams, time, weighing, writing and zoo animals. There is a rotating camera that can also record videos. My son loves taking pictures!
The nick jr. nabi jr. has some Nick jr. themed apps and 16gb of storage space but there are also the same preloaded apps/ camera/ music etc. You will also have more Wings educational lessons. My kids all love their nabis! Though my youngest is only 2, he can already do really well on the nabi jr. apps and has learned a lot. You can also download the Amazon appstore on the nabi jr.s to find more apps. It is probably still his favorite thing out of all of the toys and other things to play with and I'm super happy we went with the nabi jr. for him.
