S/O Childfree Trip

For those with nannies or babysitters, would you or have you taken the nanny on a family trip?  How did it work?  What was the schedule?  What did you pay for other than her typical salary?

I keep thinking this might be an option until I talk myself out of it.  I feel like it's the ultimate indulgence and I spend so much time away from my kids while working why would I do it on "family" vacation, KWIM?  I can almost convince myself it's worth it if we go with another family.  Then she's essentially there so the adults can go out at night.  But then what does she do the rest of the time?

And maybe this is no different than going on vacation with grandparents so you can get a break.  But I guess it feels more indulgent than that?
