Re: *** Tuesday Bedrest Check-in ***
Quick update: I went to L&D yesterday after having several days of contractions that were increasing in consistency and intensity and some pink discharge. I was pretty sure I wasn't in labor, but wanted a cervical check to see if things were changing and steroids were in order. I was contracting every 2-3 hours consistently when I got there, but my cervix was long and closed. We stayed for 3hrs of observation and there was no change. Interestingly I've also been having more side effects from my nifedipine (light headed, dizzy, chest pressure) and haven't felt like it was working like it had before. My dose wore off while in L&D and my contractions spaced anyway. So we got to come home last night and I've decided to hold off on the nifed for now.
Slept: OK. I was definitely woken up more with contractions and peed like 4 times, but never had a long period of being awake like I have had before waiting for a med dose then dealing with the light headedness/racing heart afterwards.
Symptoms: No real change.
QOTD: I'm so bad at this stuff!

BFP#3 8/19/13 Another boy! 17P, modified bedrest and Nifedipine helped us have a termie! DS2 born 4/19/14 at 38w5d.
Symptoms: biggest complaints are still heartburn/acid reflux, spd pain, backache, and the occasional contraction.
Cravings: dh bought me some ginger ale to help w/the heartburn and I can't get enough lol. The taste isn't super yummy it's just the fizziness and the fact that it does offer some relief that really makes be wanna do a little happy dance:)
Yesterday LO had a eerily quiet day, but today she's back to her normal activity level so I feel like I'm a little less stressed today, definitely less comfortable because of all the kicks but my mind is at ease.

I spent yesterday in labor and delivery. I woke up at 4 am with lots of tightness and timed 3 solid contractions in 30 minutes. I headed in to the hospital at 5:30 am. I received a shot of brethine, IV and was hooked up to monitors. I am moved down to my own observation room and given oral Procardia. I get a very detailed, hour long, ultrasound of the baby and of my cervix. Baby looks perfect, my cervix is 4 cm long. BUT you can see where I am dilated, almost looks like it's separating. I hang out several more hours and the doctor comes in to release me and says bedrest until next Tueaday when I am reassessed at my already scheduled appointment.
So hello everyone! I dealt with preterm labor and bedrest from 28 weeks to 36 weeks with my son about 4 years ago. So my history makes me super anxious and my doctors very cautious.
26 weeks tomorrow! Each day/week is a victory. I need to have DH pick up some books so I can pass time while DS is at daycare. Also may pick up some yarn to start crocheting.
