I ate lots of sweets running up to the day of the test and then avoided them that morning. Then again, I want a lot of sweets anyway, so the only real prep was avoiding them the day of. I didn't have any nausea and baby barely registered the sugar.
@MommyP710 I also had the GD test Friday and haven't heard anything... But my OB left the practice two weeks ago and I don't see the new OB until the 17th so I have no idea if anyone at the office has even looked at my results. Guess I gotta make a phone call. Hope you get yours soon!
Just drank my orange drink. It tastes exactly like that orange drink we had at track events. Seriously, it wasn't bad at all. Now we play the waiting game.
June '14 September Siggy challenge- Favorite things about fall
Okay, so now I get to wait a week for the GD results. On a AW note, I just totally pulled the 7 months pregnant card to get my way. Auto parts dealer sent the wrong part, apologized and said the correct one will be here next week. I told the customer service rep that I could go into labor tomorrow or 12 weeks from now, no one knows, but either way I needed this part for the only car that will fit my car seat (a slight fib) and it has to get fixed ASAP. So, I got free overnight shipping yeah for small miracles!
June '14 September Siggy challenge- Favorite things about fall
Is anyone else's belly sitting in their lap lately? I mean, I'm short so the belly is kind of everywhere, but it's weird. Also, underbelly sweat is gross (it's been warm here lately).
Yes & Yes. I resorted to swiping the deodorant across the low belly after a warmer day when I noticed how sweaty it was. Guess that can be added to the "you know you're approaching or in the 3rd trimester when..." list
I took a little break from The Bump. I'm trying I keep the house cleaner and pay more attention to DS, he's not going to be an only child for much longer and I want to give him as much attention as possible these last few months. I have missed you ladies. It was so different not seeing cat gifs everyday! My grandma was moved into a nursing home a couple weeks ago. I haven't seen her a lot this last year because she's lived with my mom and my mom and have been fighting/not talking. While I knew she probably wasn't thrilled to be in a nursing home, I was happy to know that I could see her more easily now. I went to visit her this past week and she seemed so sad. Does anyone have any experience with this? Will it get better once she gets used to being there? I plan on visiting her every week.
So, all these chicks on my FB posted in the past about how HORRIBLY GROSS AND AWFUL the glucose drink was. Today was my day and I was expecting some kind of vomit-tasting horror. It just tasted like cheap fruit punch. WTF. I just want to go back to them and be like, "You are seriously the whiniest bishes. You drank a small bottle of fruity junk. It's no big deal."
I walk into the room and saw my DH eating a giant brownie smothered in cream cheese frosting... I laughed and asked if he was having pregnancy cravings. My DH hardly eats sweets and when he does it's portion controlled. This was no where near portion controlled. I thought it was cute.
AW here. My brother is an OB-GYN in Alabama (I'm in MS) we stopped by to see him on our way back home after a wedding in Florida. We got to see his clinic and he did an ultrasound for us! It was such a special moment for him to see his niece or nephew (team green here) and for us to hear him say that everything looked great! I made him promise that he wouldn't tell us if he saw boy/girl-but thankfully he didn't see. Just wanted to share!
My AW - I just hit the 100 days left mark Getting so excited to meet this LO. I did my first load of baby clothes the other day and sitting on the bed folding them and smelling them just made me all teary eyed and emotional.
Also - Saturday is my massage and I'm SO looking forward to relaxing a little bit!
I just stalked my registry and someone bought us our car seat and the A&A swaddling blankets! I am beyond excited about the car seat since I thought it was super expensive (Chicco KeyFit 30) and was not expecting anyone to buy it for us!
If you failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour, what was your 1 hour score?
Disclaimer: I know I should just wait for the 3 hour, not worry, GD isn't the end of the world, etc. On a logical level, I get all of that. But on an anxious level, it just doesn't impact anything.
I took the 1 hour yesterday. They said they want to see < 135. I got 144. I'm doing the 3 hour on Monday. I'm hoping that 9 points high isn't a lot? I wasn't fasting, buy I also wasn't eating carbs.
Any other remember their numbers from the first "failed" test?
This is what the last 3 days have felt like. Followed by somersaults and barrel rolls! I don't think baby girl sleeps anymore! If I were to rest a small cup of water on the bump, she almost hits hard enough to make the Jurassic Park Dino ripples in it.
@yellowbird219 I think it is highly unlikely that you're having twins. It sounds like your doc is monitoring your growth which is great. If you end up with GD, they'll help you thru that, too. At your next appt, I would ask the doc what would happen if you are measuring ahead. Would they change your date? Would they try to induce earlier? They'll have the best info for you! Good luck!
At my 12 week ultrasound I was about 3 days behind (no big deal, I knew when I ovulated versus LMP).
Then at my 20 week A/S, I was a week ahead, so sometime in that 8 weeks span, the little guy grew 13 days ahead of everyone else.
No one mentioned GD to me once when considering baby's growth. I took the test last week. Negative.
I think you can be measuring a week ahead (or maybe even a little behind?) and it's just what the parameters of normal are... it doesn't mean something is wrong.
Also, FWIW, at my 24 week appointment, the Dr. measured my uterus and said the baby was growing "great", lol. I'm not sure exactly what that means, I didn't ask if my uterus was ahead of schedule or anything.
Try not to worry. Or, if you are like me, try not to worry about anything other than how to deliver a 12 pound baby. That is my fear and MIL didn't help by telling me that DH was a 10lb+ baby.
Who is doing maternity pictures? When do you do them?
We aren't going to do anything fancy, just have DH take a few shots while we're at an exhibit I already want to go see (it runs till mid-May), so I just need to pick a weekend to go.

We just booked our photographer! She said 32-38 weeks is best. I am doing 32, because I don't want to be HUGE and swollen, or heaven forbid baby wants to get here really early.

I found out today I failed my 1 hr test. My OB office said they like it around 130 and I was 138. I go next Thurs for my 3 hr.
I was super anxious all day about it too until DH talked it over with me and said it doesn't seem like it's that much higher then what they like it to be and he said they'd probably have me taking something if it was super high.
We're doing maternity pics probably the 23rd or 30th. I'm using my cousin who is a great amateur photog. I'll only be around 27 weeks but I'm already big and getting uncomfortable and there's definitely a noticeable bump lol. If she does a great job and if I feel good later on in the pregnancy, I may also do some later.

I don't for sleep, but for lounging around and reading or something, I will. It's fine, right?
