Anyone's LO have torticollis?

At H's 2 months appointment, I mentioned that she is always tilting her head to one side. The doc diagnoses her with torticollis and showed us some stretches to do. We've been doing them with her but somedays it doesn't seem like it is helping much. I'm wondering if I should call her Pedi back and asked for a referral to a physical therapist. I feel like she has a pretty severe tilt. Anyone deal with this?

My DD had it and we went to PT. I loved her therapist and her flat spot resolved without a helmet. I would at least get a consult with a PT.

  • My LO has it. Head tilt looked about the same angle as that pic of your baby. We've been doing PT since he was 10 weeks. I would call back the Pedi and ask her to give you a referral for an eval. We go once a week and we've seen a huge improvement. Also, better to start sooner rather than later. She could have difficulty rolling, sitting up, etc. if her neck remains that tight.
  • DD has it and we've been doing things to help with it before consulting a PT. We're doing stretches for her neck and when feeding (EFF) we hold the bottle so she has to look in the direction she's having problems looking to. We also are turning her so that she has to look at her toys in that direction, too. And lastly, when she's sleeping we'll turn her head so she's not looking to her favored side. So far all these things have been working really well for us.
