1st Trimester

Can't effing sleep!

I have spent the last two nights tossing, and turning, and unable to get comfortable. That, plus daylight savings nearly made me fall asleep on the sales floor yesterday. What can I do during the 1st Trimester to help me sleep because I am seriously out of it.

Re: Can't effing sleep!

  • This is exactly how I have been feeling the last couple of days. I feel like I barely slept at all last night. Staying active during the day is the only thing that keeps me going. If I sit still for too long, I may fall over and sleep on the floor.

I have no idea. This may sound like a silly question, but does it matter what position we sleep in?  I love sleeping on my stomach and last night (first night finding out) I did everything to NOT lie on my stomach and had trouble sleeping.
  • I seem to have insomnia in the first trimester. I have no idea why, because it's not like there's a huge baby or a smooshed bladder. But I take doxylamine, which is also supposed to help with nausea. It's hit or miss. Ask your obgyn what they suggest.

In the first trimester, you shouldn't have any issues sleeping on your stomach. You could also look up some meditation techniques - I usually use those when I am having trouble sleeping.

Thank you so much @ss265. Meditation techniques - SUCH  a great idea!
  • u are not by yourself. Ever since I found out we are preggers. I have been fighting sleepless rounds with my matress. I wake up in the middle of the night back hurting, hip hurting and find a comfortable position. The question was what can you do???? I wish I had the million dollar answer. Talk with doctor and see if the doctor has any remedy or ideas.
  • plz plz give me some details! lol i would love to figure out a way to fall asleep w/o using medications
