Babies on the Brain

... So, this could be the real thing.

Hi ladies!

DH and I have been TTC for a while now and I know that we both do really really really want a baby, but do any of you get a rush of anxiety before taking a pregnancy test? Like "Oh my goodness, this could be the real thing" or "are we really ready for this?" "Am I going to be a good mom?" "should we have saved more money?" I know TTC and being pregnant can unearth a lot of emotions, I just want to see if this is normal.

Thanks!! XoXo

  • Totally normal imo! As long as those doubts aren't causing you significant pause or distress, I think it's normal to feel anxious in that moment. Planning for pregnancy and actually being pregnant stir up their own emotions.

  • I thought that off and on throughout my entire pregnancy with DS. Having kids is exciting, but also kind of scary.

  • So true! I don't ever really dwell on it, but I definitely don't want to go into a pregnancy with doubts. But, then again, I don't think that's totally possible lol :)

  • Normal.  When I got my BFP with DS, I burst into tears.  Like, freak out tears.  DH thought I was crazy because we were TTC, so it wasn't a surprise.  Just scary when it's REAL!
  • Oh yea... I go through treatments, and still feel like that. Every time we hit a new phase I start to panic, like OMG what if this works? Are you ready? Are we stable? ... I think its normal. Good luck to you!

  • My child is 6. I slammed her hand in a door last week. I felt like a failure for a few days. Last night I played "Trouble" with her after dinner. I was all "this shit is amazing." Then she got up today. She refused to wear her school uniform shoes, brush her hair, or eat. Being a parent is a whole ball of emotions.
    OMG yes!

  • Today she came home happy as a clam and I like being a mom again. Ask me in a few days when she is a stubborn little shit like her mom, I mean her dad. ;)

  • Definitely normal.. You want it so bad and then you get the positive and then get a little scared. Happened to me
