No nasal bone, all other tests good- advice?

Hi girls. Hoping someone can share some personal experience. I did the 12 week screening and everything was normal. Measurements and blood work were fine and they gave me a really low Down syndrome risk. I was thinking I was in the clear. Today at the 19 week anatomy scan the tech couldn't see a nose bone. She tried different angles and said this could be a downs indicator. They are sending me for a level 2 ultrasound this week to look closer. All other measurements they took today were normal. How much should I be worried. I'm freaking out! Help!

Try not to worry. Sometimes they can't get a good shot because baby is moving or at a funny angle, which is why they're having you go back in. At our a/s, the doctor had us in a full panic because he measured a larger nuchal fold (by one tenth) and had us meet with the genetic counselor. All our other measurements were fine. Other doctors and my ob told us that since everything else looked great and our panorama tests came back "low risk" that more than likely everything will be fine.

Try not to freak out!

I did notice my US tech looking at my babies nasal area and wondered why and I'm guessing it's to confirm the nasal bone? but! I was an x ray tech and know that the nasal bones are SO tiny, I'm shocked to learn they could even be seen at all this early, so perhaps they just couldn't see them or they're just really tiny, because even adult nasal bones are crazy small like the size if a finger nail clipping... hope all is well! to tell you the truth, my tech said "nose looks great" which I had no clue what that even meant,,, no mention if bones...
