Ants and lizard

We had some little black ants in our kitchen a few weeks ago. Then they were in the bathroom. I killed them white vinegar and salt. Today I noticed the ants in our bedroom and tv room. Our LO sleeps in our room. I put vinegar and salt on the window and it's not working as well as before. I poured bleach on the sill too. I thought maybe this worked. I just put lo down for bed and look over and see ants still. I don't want to leave him in the room alone now or sleep there myself. Any reccomendations on how to kill them? Of course I'm nervous of chemical with the baby. I do know of a "green" pest control but it's expensive.

Also had a lizard about the size of 1.5 clothes pins in my bathroom.

Spearmint or Peppermint essential oil on a papertowel works well to keep ants away.
