No update here but my favorite thing about spring is my garden coming alive. I love putting in all the veggie plants and I adore smelling the blooming jasmine through the windows. I celebrate when the tulips come up because it means all the other flowers are about to start coming alive too. My garden is my happy place and I'm so glad I had time to do all the spring "heavy lifting" to get it ready this year.

  • Check In: one more week to go in the TWW. Saturday or Sunday will be the day I go in for blood test to see if there is a little one developing. Keeping my FX!

Spring makes me hopeful that snow is almost done and warmer temps are on the way. Today the weather man said we could see a high of 50, but then snow tomorrow. Spring also means baseball is around the corner. My husband coaches and we enjoy going to MLB games!
  • Check In: IUI has been going really well! It wasn't nearly as weird and obtrusive as I thought it would be, though my boss is clearly getting irritated that I need every morning off until the 14th.

Spring is great; it finally gets warmer (though not by an awful lot, I must say) and there's lots of chocolate! What's not to love? I also have a friend who is a practicing pagan, so as well as well as the normal Easter things, I go to a masquerade party on the vernal equinox, which is always really fun.

Hugs to @sunni01 and @mm29; thinking of you!

  • Hi ladies and Chris!

    Not much going on.

I think Spring brings the feeling of being more positive...birds are starting to sing...the flowers will bloom soon..the sunshine and everything smells fresh :) Maybe this is the spring I actually bring my bike out of hibernation. It's only been 2 yrs :)

Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

  • Not much to check in this week.  I am still waiting to hear from the coordinator to get things rolling.  I went ahead and left her a message on Friday, so hopefully I will hear back from her today.

Since it has already been a week since my consult and we haven't made any progress, it looks like we probably won't get to cycle right away.  It's probably for the best, I've got a lot of things going on at work including a trip to our UK office next week, so can focus on getting through those before I have to worry about our cycle.  It's disappointing though, I was looking forward to moving on quickly.

QOTW: I always feel happier and more positive in the spring.  I think it's the warmer weather and sunshine.

  • Check-in: Well, I'm 13dpo (IF I ovulated right at the 36 hour mark of the trigger.) Home tests are coming up negative and I'm on progesterone, so no af as of yet. RE protocol is a blood test, which I had this morning. They said they have had plenty of people come in with negative home tests and then see a positive blood test. While I'd love to be hopeful, I'm not.

As for our journey, we aren't sure, but are leaning toward this being our last try. It is devastating to think about not trying anymore, but this is such an expensive and emotional process that we aren't sure that continuing to try (and fail) is what we want to do. We know that our lives would be so wonderful with a child, but we also know that our lives would be wonderful with just us. My biggest fear is regret. I don't want to go 10 years and still regret not trying more, or trying something else. We could certainly try for another year, and fail, and then decide to stop trying, and still have the same regret. We are both devastated, but I'm so incredibly thankful that we are on the same page. We haven't made our decision yet. We may take a month off and try again, but as for now, we are taking it one day at a time.

Sending thoughts and prayers to everyone who needs it.

QOTW: I love hiking in the spring. We tend to avoid trails when it is muddy (it's a hiker etiquette thing), but the moment the trails are dry, we are hiking. I also love turning the heat down, walking outside and not being stuck in the house!

  • Well, we got the official bfn from the RE a bit ago. Even though we were pretty sure we were out, it's still devastating. We decided that taking the next few cycles off to really evaluate what we want is the best decision. We will revisit things in a few months.

  • I finally heard from the coordinator.  She is sending us the donor profiles, all of our forms/paperwork, and my prescriptions.  She is also passing our info along to the psychiatrist that does the psych evaluations, so we can get that started as well.  My next cycle should start next week, so we won't have everything ready to start that cycle so we will have to wait one more cycle.  That puts our transfer around May 1st.

I hope everyone is having a good week.

Update: nothing. I am really getting frustrated with my clinic. I had hoped for a March cycle and that didn't happen. Then I was hoping for an April cycle but I have a work trip smack dab in the middle of the month that would be around when the transfer would be. They're telling me that I can still possibly cycle in April but I'm losing hope of that. I'm sick of waiting, I had told them back in December I was ready to cycle again, although they really didn't put me back on the active list until January. But still. This is getting ridiculous. I'm considering taking my money back (was in a guarantee program) and going elsewhere. But the thought of starting over someplace new just sounds so exhausting to me.

QOTW: I love the warmer weather! And getting outside after being cooped up most of the winter. We've had an extremely cold and snowy winter for us so I am SO READY for it! Yesterday it was 72 here and it's supposed to be the same today. LOVE IT!

  • There's some great updates here! Congrats to all who have had transfers or who are currently carrying.

My thoughts go out to all of you who suffered setbacks or losses.

I got my IUD out last week and got my period a few days after. I'm wishing my IP dads were ready to try this month but we will wait until next cycle to inseminate.

I told my mom about the traditional surrogacy and she seems supportive but the genetic factor is stronger for her so there will still be some tough time with my family.

I found a book written by a 3x traditional surrogacy!! So cool. Everything out there is usually gestational.

    Good luck on your journeys!!!
  • Can't remember if I had posted anything last year but here I am. Short story is we are using a GC & DE, cycling at ORM. Donor #1 reserved late October. Transfer was supposed to happen April 1. Well April fools, donor backed out due to a family emergency a few weeks ago. We are now on to donor #2 who is from The Donor Source. She is unproven & in the middle of her testing. Already lined up the lawyer to do that contract.

    So overwhelmed!

Weather in Seattle is gorgeous today!!!! Nice crisp Spring like day.

Side note since I can't seem to post a new thread from my phone, does anyone have some sort of checklist for everything in this process? Kind of like the knot wedding checklist? So many puzzle pieces to stay on top of that I'm scared I'm going to miss something. TIA!

You all are amazing individuals. Truly!

@datingbettyboop‌ I'm in Seattle too! Yay! And yesterday was lovely out!

I'm so late but here goes...(PAIF)

All is well here. Second tri is treating me well! I feel like me again, for a while anyhow. We have our preliminary a/s on Friday which I'm excited and nervous about.

I'm gearing up to write our egg donor. She knew we were pregnant before and that we lost that baby, but now at 17w I feel ok to tell her. From our exchanges, I feel like she'd want to know! I just didn't want to have to untell her...

QOTW: I love flowers blooming! My winter Daphne is in bloom and it smells amazing!!! And not freezing all the time (I run cold) is a big win too!

  • @Mistyhf‌ awesome!!

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

  • @2MamazInSeattle‌ I think it's wonderful that you're going to let your donor know about your pregnancy. I'm sure she will be thrilled :)

    No updates here.

We had 65 degrees here Tuesday which was AH mazing, but back to slow and 20s today... oh the joys of living in Ohio. My favorite parts of Spring are all the delicious smelling flowers and getting to play outside regularly.

  • @Bean386 congrats!!! Such awesome news
  • Blood pregnancy test today was a BFN. They suspect I had a chemical pregnancy because my HCG level was 1.25. Sad and disappointed, but I can start again as soon as my period starts. Trying to stay positive and hope that one day it will be a BFP.
  • @jdionne I'm so sorry to hear that.  Prayers & hugs.
