Hello girls.  I hope you can help.

I have been lurking all day at threads regarding implantation bleeding and spotting with pregnancy etc.

I got my BPF Saturday (3/8) at 11dpo.  I had brown spotting right away on tissue and liner.  Still happening today.  No pain or bright red blood.  Called doc today and he is NOT concerned however wants me to do an ultrasound at some point this week.  He said it's "implantation bleeding"; "old blood".

How long is this supposed to last?  Have any of you had this early on?  [I have mainly only seen responses regarding implantation bleeding occurring before BFP]

I had pink spotting as I approached 6w.  My OB did beta draws, and saw my numbers doubling perfectly.  I'm now 12w w/ twins.  I agree w/ PP that you need a real OB, who understands pregnancy.  An ultrasound at this point isn't going to tell you anything one way or the other.  You're better off getting betas.  If they're going up, you're pregnant.

Surely your doctor knows that....if not, I would find a doctor who understands how pregnancies progress and that nothing is expected to show up on an ultrasound until ~5w (sac might be visible), and the heartbeat won't show up until ~6-7w. 

If your doctor wants to do testing to confirm a viable pregnancy, beta HCG draws are way to go before ~6w. 

This.  And to make you feel better, I spotted for over a week with brown blood after implantation, and then on occasion after that, particularly after I exercise or if I've had sex.   When I was pregnant with DS, I spotted bright red blood a few times. My midwife practice has not been concerned because it isn't heavy like a period.  So far, they haven't brought me in for betas
