Someday, I'm going to figure out how to do a smiley in the main paragraph w/o having to edit. 8-> Edit to include real someday dream: 8-> someday my house will e clean again and I won't have to fight w my awesome dd about putting away her darn neigh neighs.

Someday, my child will not have to talk all. Day. Long. He has delayed language and I'm thrilled that he is a verbal child at all, but he doesn't really talk to communicate. He talks because it stimulates him in some way. Kind of like how some kids on the spectrum spin- my kid has to talk unless he is super concentrating on something. So for this whole day so far, DH and I have listened to our broken record of a son say things like "He got bugs on him!" (Lightning McQueen) and "we're sorry, there are no movies or series with 'Q'" (he read it from the on-demand search, I guess), "Please do not place child in shopping cart" (on the half carts at the grocery store- yesterday he asked to ride in the cart by saying "Do you want please place child in cart?"), etc. on repeat.

This is all the time- we usually just suck it up and take it for what it is, but DH and I are wiped out for some reason and want to pull our hair out.

^^oh, and if we say "Please say it one time" or "it's time to be quiet," he rushes at whoever is looking most vulnerable at the moment. Asking him not to talk is a trigger we're working through.

Thank you! We are definitely on the lucky end of the spectrum. We never had to experience a regression- just got to witness amazing growth a little late and scattered. And he's so stinking smart and funny.
