Bedtime trouble all of the sudden

Hi Everyone,

I have a 2 year old and a 5 month old. Lately my 5 month old has been having a terrible time getting to sleep. She sleeps well at night, but fusses and cries for quite a while before I get her successfully down. I'm guessing it's an issue with not getting her to sleep at the right time, but I'm feeling pretty clueless. Right now I start trying to get her down around 7:15. She takes three naps during the day. She doesn't seem ready for bed when I've tried 6:30ish. She is teething, but doesn't have this trouble during the day and isn't chewing her hands or fussing like she does with teething pain. I'm hoping someone might have some ideas as to what could be going on with my girl. Thanks!

Re: Bedtime trouble all of the sudden

  • I have the same problem with my 5.5 months old. She always went down easily if I rocked her to sleep but last few weeks she has been going batshit crazy when I put her to sleep ( same routine ,same rocker same everything). So far the only thing that worked is bouncing on bed instead of rocking and using the sleep sheep on the ocean setting. Try changing the way you hold her maybe if she falls asleep in your arms?

  • Mine was like that at 3 months when she started teething. The only thing that worked was putting her in the ergo and walking on the treadmill or bouncing on the yoga ball. It passed eventually, but it sucked big time. Good luck!
