Need advice....spotting or really light AF?

So I thought I was getting my period on Thursday, now I'm not so sure what is going on. Thursday morning when I wiped it was brown like old blood. After I got to work it was red, but not a lot, but it was just starting so no shock, so I put in a tampon. So still not a lot the rest of the day, and yesterday morning. Come home yesterday, still not much, so since I was home and not going anywhere I decided to just leave a pantiliner and see what happens. It hasn't been anything on it, only when I wipe! And this morning it's only tinge pink when I wipe. I don't know what is going on. I am not temping yet as I can't run to walmart to get the supplies, I have a box of Clearblue preg tests. Would you 'waste' one yet? Or wait a few days and see? I have had nauseous feelings for over a week and had no signs of AF coming, other than a couple headaches, which I of course have other times too. I know this is only our first month trying and slim chances but this has really been strange for a period if you could call it that. Thanks for any input! Sorry if it posts weird, on my iPad, laptop had a fall yesterday

If it required a pad or tampon I'd consider it flow & not spotting. I wouldn't use an HPT.

I usually spot for 3-4 days before I get my period. Everyone is different though, so if you feel like you could be pregnant then you should take the test.

Thanks guys. Never spotted like this before, but only been off BC for 2 months, and never happened like this on the pill. Trying to get used to being off BC and not knowing what and when your body is doing something is fun! Not really, lol. Here's to more waiting! I know it's just begun

I consider it a waste to have bought blue dye tests in the first place. Pee on them all you want, they're not reliable anyways. And your bleeding sounds like pre-AF spotting to me, I get that every cycle.

Hey @ CEA83 - I've been off BCPs for about 3.5 months now.  I had some spotting this cycle too and I don't know what to think about it.  It wasn't enough for a panty liner and has been off and on since Monday.  I only notice when I wipe and it's also light brown/light pink.  I think for me it's likely random pre-period spotting.  I'm kind of wondering if this means my progesterone was low for this cycle.  It could mean the same thing for you - or maybe you're just having a light period this cycle?  It could also obviously be implantation bleeding.  Were you expecting to have your period on Thursday or was this early for you?

Also, you could try to take an HPT, but if you did in fact have implantation bleeding on Thursday, it would be too early for an HPT to pick up hcg.  Most home pregnancy tests won't pick up on that until 5-7 days after implantation.  If you're like me, though, you'll take the test because the suspense would be killing you

Since I'm not temping, I don't know for sure, but just going by my last cycle which was 29 days, I would have been due for it Thursday. Unfortunately, I can't run out to walmart for any other kind of test, so I will wait and see what happens the next few days, before wasting a test...I'm putting it to pre-period spotting for now I guess. Thanks guys!
