Appointment yesterday lasted a blistering 3 hours....
The good news -- they're done with hearing screens. So all future visits (yes, we're not yet done), will only involve the grueling developmental screen.
That said, the developmental screen was just about as fun as I expected. A whole list of tricks they should be doing which they're not, the numerical reminder that DD2's motor skills are the equivalent of a baby half her age, and that we should be looking into Developmental Therapy, as well, because they're not yet able to accurately identify the key themes of Great Expectations while simultaneously performing an original piano solo.
Ugh, I'm still snarky about that appointment.
Ah well, we'll be back there in 6 months to do it all over again....at which point we'll likely be talking orthotics and hip huggers and all sorts of other not fun stuff for DD2's "extremely" low tone. This was after they reminded me more than once how far away from walking she was, so it's not something to worry about right now. Helpful. Thanks for that.
I don't expect puppies and rainbows and pats on the back or anything, but, man, if they said literally anything positive, that would have made the (expected) pill a little easier to swallow.
