I still routinely get people on this board mixed up more than I should. I had no clue there were two Dani# for an embarrassingly long time. I get people mixed up who don't even make any sense to mix up. I've posted here more than long enough to get my shit straight.
Looking back on pics of my kid as a brand new baby, he wasnt really all that cute. I think I was delusional in thinking that he was one of the lucky NB who aren't a little funny looking. Now, of course I think he's adorable

So way back when Owen was, like, 3, there was a truck that had those disgusting balls hanging off the back of it that was always parked in our local Walmart lot. Every single time I had to go there, it was there and parked right by the friggin' doors. I didn't love it, but fine, whatever, until the day that Owen first noticed it. He said to me, "Mom! Look at that yucky truck! Why is that truck so yucky?" I really didn't know what to say, so I tried to brush it off, but every time we went to Walmart after that, Owen would always point out the yucky truck.
Mr. Vals didn't think it was that big a deal and told me that I was overreacting when I told him how upsetting it was.
Well, we happened to be going through a really bad rough patch at the time (as in, we almost broke up), and I was always mad at him. So one day he came in to surprise me at work with something in a plastic shopping bag. He said, "The yucky truck is no more," and when I opened the bag I saw the balls from the truck.
I was so happy I kissed him right in the lobby of the restaurant I was working in.
So yeah, Mr. Vals is a thief, I'm his accomplice, and our relationship was probably saved by a pair of fake truck balls.
I mean, how can you even keep a straight face when your 9 year old says that? MOTY.
My FFFC: dh and I are sending the girls to my parents for the weekend and have made a gigantic list of things to get done while they are gone but all I really want to do is sleep and spend time with Eli uninterrupted.
She still sometimes wears the Halloween ones! I seriously misjudged how big she would be for both holidays! That and they both run big. Or that's what I tell myself.

In my defense, the baby was asleep downstairs with the sitter and I didn't want to risk waking him up.
no shame in that. It's not like she'll get confused.
We bought more Christmas pj's after Christmas on clearance. He needed the next size up
@Meimsx

I would much rather stay home all day and snuggle, and give him a cupcake to smash up. But I feel this pressure to host a bash or I'm a bad mom.

I think it's really great that so many of the ladies on here are so excited about planning a big party for their babies. But that's not how I roll. It's exhausting, it's expensive, and I don't have any family that will come anyway. So I skip the big party and just spend the kids' birthdays together as a family.
I'm not looking forward to Dora the Explorer theme parties, or whatever obnoxious character is big when DD gets older. I want to soak in her first birthday party because it can be more adult friendly. Not screaming, running, loud kid friendly.

Haha I told H the exact same thing about the photographer. If I'm putting in all of this work, there will be proof of it!
I have been on a grumpy spree for a bit and this week I have already clocked 750 miles (with two more 'trips' left today and tomorrow) I am strangely in a better mood when I get home and I think this what I was missing.
