Today was a monumental day for me. I signed the papers and the next step is my XH will be served with the divorce papers. I was hoping (still am) that I will get mine first so he isn't combative. I am so overwhelmed with what comes next...where do I live? Can I get a full time job? Where will the kids go during the day? How will visitation work out? How will I pay the lawyer? Ugh...one day at a time. One moment at a time. 5 years and a huge wedding and house just.....gone.

Take it moment to monent if thats what it takes. Im divorced and i understand how hard it is for that all to just be gone. I understand its a hard adjustment.

Remember you can do it! You are stronger then you know and you can do it

I'm divorced also and I remember having periods of insane happiness (divorce party, etc.) and then real sadness (when the papers came for me to sign, when I checked online and it said we were officially divorced - I was in a diff state at that point so I didn't have to show up to court). Take it one day at a time and allow yourself to feel it, to cry it out, etc. It's a MASSIVE loss, like a death so its okay to treat it like one. I wasn't married very long (just over a year) but I probably just got over my divorce after I got pregnant and realized we were never going to work...sooo about 2.5 years.

I'm going through a divorce as well and I can totally relate. We would have been married for 9 years this year. It's not just a loss of the relationship, it's a loss of the dreams. It's okay to mourn.
