Video Moniter Mounting

Where do you guys mount your video montier?

 I currently have ours on the side panel of the crib but dd likes to wiggle all the way to the side so that the moniter won't tilt any further down and I can't see her head. I put her directly in the middle of the crib with her body long ways in the crib and her head closest to the moniter. Maybe I should just move her all the way to the opposite end so she has plenty of room to scoot. <-ok maybe I just answered by own question.

Also, how did you mount it or is it just free standing there?

Ours is on the wall pointing towards the middle where I lay her every night. She scoots and kicks throughout the night so sometimes it's only half her body. I just figure that's the way it is unless we were to mount much higher but then I'm not sure how good of a pic we would get

Ours is mounted higher up on the wall. That way we can see the whole crib. If we need to see closer, we just zoom in and adjust the camera.

Ours is also on the wall above the crib, about 2 ft. down from the ceiling. I've got some other stuff on the wall, so it kind of blends in. But I can see the whole crib and zoom if I need to.

we actually used a command strip and attached it it to the short side of the crib...deft not the best idea, but it is attached securely.  we are going to move it soon, now that she is wiggling a bunch.  she sleeps at the other end of the crib so it's never close to her.

Thanks! DH hates putting holes in the wall but it sounds like that may be the best spot for it.

Command strip to the wall. Super duty ones that hold like 12lbs so I wouldn't worry about the .5lb camera

Ours is mounted on the wall above the crib.  We have one of those wire casings that attach to the wall so the cord is contained.

Thanks for the reminder of containing the cord. I noticed she also likes to put her hand thru the bars. Last thing I need is for her to pull the cord and the whole thing comes toppling down or something worse.

Wall mount is safest, once DS was standing I even had to blue tape the cord out of his reach

My husband screwed on one of those small tripods we got with our camera and ziptied the monitor to one of the rails of the crib.  He also zip tied all the cords...don't have a heart attack people!  We need to move it back away from her head beacuse she's moving more now but it works great.

To date, we have had ours on the railing of the crib in the corner.  The cord is long enough, that it runs down the outside corner of the crib to the floor and over to the outlet.  However, now that LO is moving around in the crib more, we need to mount it to the wall.  The way that our nursery is arranged, I think I will mount it above the frame of the closet and that should give us a good veiw of the crib and then we can zoom accordingly.  I hope I can figure out a way to command strip it rather than put holes in the wall!!

Great post!  A good reminder that I need to get DH dealing with this sooner rather than later!

Maybe I'll try those command strips before making holes. I've never used them for something as heavy as the moniter (although its not all that heavy). Hopefully that will work.

Ours is mounted using a tiny little hook like you use to hang a picture frame.
