I forgot today was an early release for DD1.  She goes to a Catholic preschool and it's Ash Wednesday, so they went to Mass and got out 30 mins early.  I didn't remember until the school called me... and our nanny was already 15 mins late.

I wrote it down, and promptly forgot about it.  I didn't tell our nanny, and didn't put it in our shared calendar.  

So my 4 year old, who is painfully shy around strangers, was sent to after school care without any warning.  The school was very nice about it.  

I'm an @$$hole.

Hey, it happens!  It's hard to remember everything! I'd feel bad too, but at least she had somewhere to go and wasn't sitting outside the school like they always show kids on TV doing when their parents forget them.

You know with busy schedules some things are bound to slip through the cracks... At least in my household they do. Dont beat yourself up over it! I bet you next time you will totally remember

dont beat yourself up. it happens. we have tons of tasks to juggle plus our full time work. I agree with PPs it will not cause irreparable damage and at the same time she had somewhere to go.
