Rejecting formula

Hi. I mostly lurk and have posted occasionally but it really need some advice on this one!

My son just turned 9 months and over the past week he has been refusing to drink any formula. We have tried different brands, sippy cups, different temperatures and he will at most drink 2 oz every 4 hours during the day!! I'm at my wits end.

We have an appt with the pedi tomorrow afternoon but I'm wondering if anyone could shed some light on how to handle it. I am worried because he is not having enough wet diapers during the day either.

He will drink water or pedialyte. And he eats solids like a champ. I have even tried cutting back on the solids but it doesn't help. (He also only gets them after a bottle).

TIA

Re: Rejecting formula

  • Is he not feeling well? LO refused to eat and he ended up having an ear infection.

  • I wish I could help you but we're in the same boat this week :-(

  • My LO has started cutting back on his formula. He really wants real food instead. He only had about 16oz yesterday and will have about 19 oz today.

Thanks for the insight! He seems to be feeling okay. But I think I will ask the pedi about trying some WCM.

What about making really soupy baby cereals (with formula) to get some additional ounces in? Or smoothies (blending formula with fruit or veggies)
