Weekly Multiples Check in

Hey y'all! I am taking the plunge and starting our multiples check in. So every Tuesday it is!

How are you feeling?

If you have been pregnant before, how does this pregnancy compare to prior singleton ones thus far?

What has the most interesting reaction been to you sharing your news? When are you planning to go public?

Are you going to be getting a new car?

Me: PCOS, Hashimotos, Blocked Left Tube
BFP #1: Maya my little miracle was born 10/22/11
BFP #2: After multiple failed rounds of Clomid, Femara, Injectables, and 2 IUIs, we are cautiously expecting twins(!!) on 10/15/14 thanks to IVF #1.

Re: Weekly Multiples Check in

  • How are you feeling? Inconsistent! Some days I feel miserable and others I feel mostly fine. Pretty tired, bloated and even my underwear doesn't feel comfortable anymore.

If you have been pregnant before, how does this pregnancy compare to prior singleton ones thus far? I actually had more nausea and throwing up at this point with my DD!

What has the most interesting reaction been to you sharing your news? When are you planning to go public? The friends that I told, are the ones that knew I was going to be doing IVF. They have been helpful, picking things up for me that I drop, etc, lol. We will be going "public" at 12 weeks and I cannot wait to justify this weight gain!

Are you going to be getting a new car? This is the saddest part for me of going from 1-3 kids. I have a mini cooper now which I adore. There is no way I can fit 3 kids in my mini. I will have to give it up!

  • How are you feeling?  Exhausted!  Also m/s is kicking my ass.

If you have been pregnant before, how does this pregnancy compare to prior singleton ones thus far?  So far just a lot more fatigue.  So much more.

What has the most interesting reaction been to you sharing your news? When are you planning to go public?  I told one of my sisters, she's the only of our family that knows yet, and she just said that she called it.  Twins run in our family hard and it was always a joke growing up that I would be the one to end up with twins because I never wanted kids.  As for when we're going public, well, we were never really not public.  If someone asks we tell them or if it comes up in conversation we tell them.  We don't go out of our way to tell about or hide a pregnancy or a loss.  If we make it to 2nd tri we're throwing a party, though!

Are you going to be getting a new car?  Nope.  This will be babies one and two, so no need for a new car yet.
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.
  • Thanks for running this check in, @rachellily ! I'm curious how many of us there are!

    How are you feeling?

I guess I'm feeling ok. I get really tired by 7pm and I'm usually asleep by 8. My nausea comes in waves. I need to eat all the time but not many things sound good. Oh, and once I do eat I feel like shit.

If you have been pregnant before, how does this pregnancy compare to prior singleton ones thus far?

With DD, my nausea and aversions were actually worse. I couldn't eat any meat at all and really only ate pizza and mac and cheese my whole first tri. I'm able to eat more this time.

What has the most interesting reaction been to you sharing your news? When are you planning to go public?

My in-laws just laughed and laughed. Not a mocking laugh, a happy laugh, but it was still kind of annoying. We will probably tell friends and more family around 10 weeks and tell FB after the A/S.

Are you going to be getting a new car?

Yes, we are looking into the Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey. Sad to say a minivan is most likely in our future.

BFP#3: 2/3/14, EDD 10/15/14, fraternal TWINS confirmed 2/21/14, two BOYS confirmed on 4/15/14!

  • I just had my first appt with ultrasound today. Its twins!

    How are you feeling?
    Slightly nauseous but good.

If you have been pregnant before, how does this pregnancy compare to prior singleton ones thus far?
My first pregnancy was a breeze. I didn't enjoy it but I never really had m/s and had a lot more energy than normal! I had few cravings and no food aversions. This pregnancy I've been nauseous 24/7 and super tired, feeling really gross and not wanting to eat anything. But I just started Unisom+B6 2 days ago and feel a lot better, less nausea and not tired.

What has the most interesting reaction been to you sharing your news? When are you planning to go public?
My sister just kept saying, "You're lying. You're lying." and my SIL said "Shut the f*ck up!" Thats really all that knows. I'll tell family at 12 weeks.

Are you going to be getting a new car?
Haven't thought about it yet but we are due for a new car soon anyway.

  • How are you feeling? Tired and some ms off & on throughout the day. Previous pregnancy? no this is our first, nothing to compare it to Interesting reactions? / going public: no real reactions (I had IVF & FET) so my immediate family knew it was a possibility. I think we will go public around that 12 week timeframe. New car? Yes, I currently have a convertible two door sports car & I don't see that working very well

Hi ladies - I hope I get to stay for a while!

How are you feeling? Depends on the day. I have been having a lot of problems with m/s, headaches and constipation , but I try not to dwell on it too much. I know it too shall pass. Emotionally I am a wreck.

If you have been pregnant before, how does this pregnancy compare to prior singleton ones thus far? About the same, but I think I a twice as scared this time!

What has the most interesting reaction been to you sharing your news? When are you planning to go public? We have not announced yet to anyone other than my family and since we did IVF and transferred 2, no one is really shocked. Happy, but just not surprised.

Are you going to be getting a new car? We will be, yes, but not until after they arrive. Our currents cars are fine, and paid for, so if something were to happen, I don't want to have cleaned out my savings account to buy a car I don't need. And it will not be a minivan. I just can't do it...

Thanks for starting this and sorry I am late posting...these little nuggets are kicking my a$$ so it isn't always comfortable to sit up on a computer.

How are you feeling? I have finally started feeling better (m/s is moving off  THANK GOD). Unfortunately today is a set back as I feel really crappy.  Other than that, I am moody, uncertain about how I feel, emotionally drained, stressed, and really trying to get excited (I should note that this pregnancy was through a fertility clinic so I was trying---that is what makes the uncertainty even more upsetting)

If you have been pregnant before, how does this pregnancy compare to prior singleton ones thus far? This is my first (and our last so glad it is twins)

What has the most interesting reaction been to you sharing your news? When are you planning to go public? Everyone seems really excited so not really anything interesting---except maybe my Aunt. She was thrilled and I did not expect her to be so over the moon (she usually isn't excited about anything that her own kids didn't do). She said this is the first pregnancy my family could actually be excited about in over 10 years (we have had a lot of teen pregnancies in extended family or pregnancies that weren't well cared for). As far as going public---almost everyone at my work knows and most of my family so it is out already

Are you going to be getting a new car? We bought a new car a few months ago and weren't planning for twins so we got a sedan. Luckily we have an SUV as our other car LOL

  • We're here! We just found out today that both the Day 3 embryos we transferred stuck and have heartbeats!

We are 6w1d today, with an official EDD of end of Oct, but we are hoping for at least mid-month.

    Okay questions:
    How are you feeling?
Okay today. Better than Monday for sure, but I get the sense a storm is brewing in terms of nausea! I've done alot of gagging in the past few days....

If you have been pregnant before, how does this pregnancy compare to prior singleton ones thus far?
    These are our first babies.

What has the most interesting reaction been to you sharing your news? When are you planning to go public?
So far everyone we told today has been THRILLED - especially my little sister who has declared she is now putting aside all potential trips and vacations until she is sure the babies know and love her and will remember her!

The only buzzkill was our RE who strongly believes in aiming for singletons, and actually said "I feel like I've ruined your lives!" today....... Well, we were thrilled so we brushed it off...... But argh.

Are you going to be getting a new car?

My partner is already talking about it! She is convinced we can't fit two carseats, a double stroller and our dog in our current small crossover!

  • Hey y'all! I am taking the plunge and starting our multiples check in. So every Tuesday it is!

How are you feeling? Queasy ALL the time! But no puking, so I'm just eating all the carbs :( and exhausted :)

If you have been pregnant before, how does this pregnancy compare to prior singleton ones thus far? My morning sickness started at 5 weeks instead of 8/9 weeks. And I'm craving raisin bran. Weird for me.

What has the most interesting reaction been to you sharing your news? When are you planning to go public? I have the biggest belly bloat ever. Anyone who sees me side eyes my belly. So we're basically telling everyone and we're only 9 weeks. Facebook in 3 more weeks.

Are you going to be getting a new car? Ugh! Yes. We're minivan shopping for sure. And selling our house.

  • I'm still somewhat in denial, but I guess I am checking in :)

    How are you feeling?
Not great, very tired, threw up several times today, been having a lot of RLP in my abdomen.

If you have been pregnant before, how does this pregnancy compare to prior singleton ones thus far?
I am much sicker much earlier. With DS, I was naseous a fair bit, but didn't actually throw up, now I have been throwing up at least once a day. Just got a Rx for zofran, so hopefully that will help.

What has the most interesting reaction been to you sharing your news? When are you planning to go public? My best friend is super excited. My parents are shocked, and everyone else will find out after our nt scans.

Are you going to be getting a new car?
Yes, probably trading my old civic for a Toyota sienna. Maybe going to test drive this weekend.
