Kid hates his Mamaroo

So we just spent $300 on the awesome Mamaroo. My LO hates it and screams whenever I put him in it. I've tried every setting and speed. And of course we can't take it back because he already puked in it. Should I keep it around, hoping he'll like it later on? Anyone else have an anti swing kid?

Re: Kid hates his Mamaroo

  • Hmm can you wash it and return it? I don't know how strict they are about these things- I've never washed and returned anything. Maybe try spot cleaning to keep it more intact? $300 is a lot to waste and I've heard Mamaroo is only good for first 4 months or so. I may be wrong.

  • SIL gave me a FP version (not near as nice). Her DD loved it from day 1- my DD is not impressed. But I also remember that my older 2 didn't really appreciate the butt shakers until later on so we will keep trying.

Does he Scream before or after you turn it on? Perhaps he needs more padding in it.
  • My LO hated his swing up until a few days ago and now he loves being in it! He's almost 5 weeks. Hope your LO changes thier mind :)
  • My dd1 hated her swing and bouncy chair. Everyone was always telling me how amazing they are. But she never grew to like them. I'm hoping dd2 likes them.

  • Mine tolerated being in it but not having it on for about a month.  Now he likes it on too.  He's actually currently sleeping in it.
  • I guess I'll try again later on. I think part of the problem now is that he hates to be put down.

  • Ugh that's got to be frustrating on several levels not just $$. Swings were my lifesaver with DD1&2.

My LO isn't a fan, either. He cries when we put him in it awake. But, if he's asleep he'll sleep like a champ in it!

ETA: I think it's more that he just wants to be held.
  • I returned my mommaroo and bought a fisher price swing with a mobile. Its amazing.

@Heiditylerg Did you return it because your baby didn't like it, or for another reason?
