1st Trimester

Question about levels

According to my last period i am 6w 1 day pregnant. I had a miscarriage 14 months ago so when my pregnancy was confirmed by the doctor he ordered me to have blood work done which was 28.20 and had to go back 6 days later and it went down to 23.36 so he has ordered me to take 200mg/day supplement. i have no bleeding/cramping or anything unsual going on. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if it worked out for the best. Thank you

Re: Question about levels

  • 200 mg of what? Progesterone?

  • What levels exactly? I presume you mean progesterone? If so your levels are not low, being on progesterone does no harm I was on suppositories till 16 weeks my level was 8 when I was tested at 4 weeks pregnant, I'm currently 34 weeks
  • Oh yes sorry progesterone
  • Ok thanks i'm not sure how to take it when it went down 4.84 in 6 days.
  • Well if it dropped below 10 in that time I would be worried but it's not too low, best to be safe with previous losses though! Fingers crossed it all works out and the progesterone supplements help :)
  • They want to check my levels because of my past miscarriage
  • I had a MC 11/13 my numbers were HCG 27.5 and 6 progesterone. 2weeks later they decreased by1/2 and the next day I had my D&C because I began bleeding. I hope this is not the case for you.
I did end up getting pregnant again and now I am 6 weeks.
God bless and I wish you well.
  • Thank you, just a little stressful beings i have already had one miscarriage and its taken 14 months to concieve again. Still not having any bleeding or anything unusual. but with my 1st miscarriage i did not have any pain just bleeding and passed large clots. Good Luck to you as well
