Preemies

8 months later

It has been a long 8 months since I have posted last. My daughter has blossomed into a wonderful baby. She is extreamly smart but still on the small side, only weighing 15lbs. Just last week we got dismissed from our Neonatal Follow Up. It was a huge accomplishment for us. We had been going for six months. I am not going to lie, I did cry. I was so excited that my little girl finally made it above the 5% line for weight on the CDC/WHO chart. We still have to go back for therapy appointments, which we have one next month, but that is every 3 months, rather than every month. We had been traveling 2 hours to her appointments. She was born in Kansas City, MO and we live 2 hours north of KCMO, almost to the Iowa border.

Some other accomplishments is that she only had one blood transfusion while in the NICU and after 54 days, we were able to go home. Her pedi has always been impressed with her. For being born two months early, she has always been more advanced than those of her corrected age. The pedi always tells us that when we go in to see her.

I have my hands full with my LO but I wouldn't change it any other way. I love her attitude, her smiles, giggles, and laughs. The way that she is always observant and looking around. I would not change it for the world. Though I do get upset when people make comments about how small she is, I always shut them up. I tell them out right to not compare my kid.

Finally, the BIGGEST pet peeve that I have with my LO is random people or family members that have been sick touching her. Ticks me off to no end, especially the strangers. It's like the see her sign, then ignore it. Seriously people? We have a sign for a reason.

PS: I have attached two photos. One when she was born 6/27/13 at 2lbs 10oz and the second is a professional Easter shot done by Heather Landzettel at 8 months, weighing 15lb.
