low hcg and no gestational sac at 5 weeks *update*

At my ultrasound this morning, my RE did not see a gestational sac. So, they cannot be sure if this pregnancy is ectopic or not. She was very cut and dry about the situation, telling me she hopes my HCG goes down and that I miscarry naturally. She also told me to stop taking my Prometrium, since that would just prolong the inevitable. I have to go again for another ultrasound on Thursday or Friday morning. I am still waiting to get the call this afternoon for my beta#3 result. She said she would be surprised if it went up significantly. I guess I won't be one of the those people who has a low hcg success story.

I still feel doctor's put too much into betas, but it is hard to imagine this will turn out well when there isn't anything visible on the ultrasound.

I just got the call from my RE's nurse and beta#3 is 950. WTF! What the hell is going on? I was speechless. She thought I had hung up on her. I was finally getting my head and heart in a place to accept a call saying that my beta had barely increased or had declined. Now I don't know what to think and she admitted they are not sure what is going on anymore either! She said that there has only been one other patient that has had numbers behave like mine and she had a full term pregnancy. I'm not counting anything before it hatches, this is crazy! I go Thursday morning for my next ultrasound and beta#4.

My fingers are crossed for all the other low beta ladies due in November. What a crazy bitch of a ride so far.

My first was 28.5 and the second was 119. (super low and really super low for the dpo) Thanks for your well wishes!

I was so confused reading your last post about your betas being low, yet today's was 950! I was totally reading out of order. Yay for big betas! Hopefully you will see that gestational sac soon!

@maybeyesmaybeno I found your post when searching because I'm 5 weeks 3 days, my beta's are low.

4/12 did Double embryo FET

4/18 first BFP on a hpt

4/21 First Beta 38.5

4/23 2nd Beta 48.9 (not doubling but is increasing possible vanishing twin?)

4/25 3rd Beta 167 (almost quadrupled!)

4/30 First Ultrasound was today---- we saw the gestational sac it measured small at 4mm... no yolk seen. Now we wait till Saturday and go back again and pray that it's getting bigger and the yolk is visible.  Just waiting for my call back for this 4th Beta they took this morning and praying it jumps like yours did.  

Any advice? How far were you when you got the call that your numbers skyrocketed and when did you see the yolk? I see you're a success story and hoping that I follow suit like you!

I kept track of my clomid cycle out of curiosity.  I wrote the date down of everything, so you should be able to see how far along I was for each step (although I didn't write down the dpo, just the date). I hope it helps answer some of your questions. I wish you the best of luck! FX!

1/21 First day AF (early)

1/27 First day Clomid

1/28 Headache, pinching cramps for both ovaries, indigestion at night, thirsty (mental note: drink WAY more water)

1/29 cramps, bloating, thirsty

1/30 Headache, cramps, indigestion at night, thirsty

1/31 Headache, cramps, dry CM starts, thirsty

2/4 US/BW: lining 2mm, 13 mm follicle left side, thirsty

2/6 US/BW: lining 8mm, 16 mm follicle, BD, thirsty

2/7 US/BW: lining 9.8mm, 18mm follicle, thirsty

2/9 6:30pm Ovidrel trigger, 9:00pm headache, BD, thick CM in AM, thirsty

2/10 Headache continues, without a doubt positive Wondfo OPK with FMU, faint second line on Wondfo HPT (testing out of system for curiosity’s sake since it’s my first trigger), EWCM started in AM, cramps, rhinitis, BD

2/11 bloating, indigestion at night, rhinitis, BD. faint second line on Wondfo HPT, should have ovulated early in the morning

2/12 start prometrium, gas, bloating, nausea, light headed at night, headache, sensitive breasts, cramps, insomnia, rhinitis, OPK negative AM, faint second line on Wondfo HPT

2/13 bloating, gas, headache, sensitive breasts, cramps, rhinitis, very faint second line on Wondfo HPT, sever digestion cramps an 1-2 hours after eating

2/14 same as above, squinter second line on Wondfo HPT, nauseous on way home from dinner

2/15 same as above, barely a squinter second line on Wondfo HPT, sever digestion cramps an 1-2 hours after eating, notice a lot of cramps on left side in afternoon/evening, nauseous when I woke up and once in afternoon

2/16 able to sleep in today!, headache, congestion, bloating has lessened, nauseous when I woke up and in afternoon, BFN

2/17 woke up starving, constantly hungry, congestion, pinching on left side all day

2/18 stark white wondfo, cramps all day, heartburn before bed, tired, gas, BFN

2/22 bad headache, congestion (when will it end?), hungry all day, boobs hurt so much, and the veins are everywhere, FMU=faint BFP, late afternoon=much darker BFP

2/28 Beta#2: 119, no gestational sac   

3/4 Beta#3: 950, gestational sac measuring approx. 2.6mm 

3/6 Beta#4: 1914 US = 1 sticky bean in the right place, gestational sac measuring approx 5.2mm with yolk sac  

3/10 US = we have a heartbeat   

3/18 US = 120bpm 

3/27 US = 160-170bpm

4/14 heard the heartbeat with doppler
