That Tylenol/ADD study...

Did anyone read the articles about the new study that shows there might be a relationship between Tylenol use during pregnancy, and ADD/ADHD in children? The article said the study didn't prove a causal link, but that there might be a relationship.
So what the heck. I have a really bad cough, and my whole body is SO SORE from the coughing. And now I'm not supposed to take Tylenol either?

    Or it could be a link between headaches in pregnancy and ADD since pregnant ladies take Tylenol for headaches. Showing a relationship doesn't prove much IMO. Take Tylenol. Feel better!

    This wasn't a controlled study and as @Dragonfly1226 stated it could have been a relationship between what the women was taking Tylenol for and the ADD. It's really hard to tell.

    Oh I realize it's not a causal link and not exactly great science. But it's just another thing to terrify us mamas. Sometimes it feels like you can't do anything right.

    I call BS! Go take two!

    FWIW- I am one of 5 sibling, 2 of us have ADD/ADHD and 3 of us don't (My Dad also has ADD but was never diagnosed b/c it wasn't a "thing" in the 60s). We ALL took tylenol since we were kids, but it only affected 2/5 of us? I don't get it.
    dx: MFI 0% morph & low count. Occasional Anovulatory cycles.

    • IVF#2 8/1/12 - BFP! DD arrived 4/10/2013.

    That sounds like BS to me. I took Tylenol when I was pregnant. I had horrible migraines. I don't think it gave either of my kids ADD. Plus I think ADD is over dx.
    IVF, acupuncture, meditation and a miracle.

    I did a bump search for Tylenol today because my parents had told me about this study (and they were all freaked out). 

    I am happy to see the ladies here all agreeing that the study is flimsy and that correlation does not equal causation. 

    I admit to letting it freak me out a bit this morning as well, but I am always skeptical of the media and these one-off studies.
