Nickname issue?

We have a DD named Natalie and expecting DD2 in a few months. The only name we have agreed on at this point is Allison. What are your thoughts on this as a sibset? I'm a little unsure about the potential nickname of Alli. Are Natalie and Alli too close sounding?

My name is Alyson, and no one called my Aly growing up. They always used my whole name, except my dad who called me "Al." If you both like the name, I don't think the names are so close that it will be a problem.

Allison and Natalie are beautiful together! Don't change it! I think Alli is a nice nn too!

Those are two of my all time favorite girl names! They go nicely together.

I understand why you are questioning Natalie and Alli... They have the same a sound in first syllable of each, but I think it's fine... nothing that will cause confusion when calling them outloud or that will sound funny when said together, or that should dissuade you from using Allison.

They aren't too close IMO.

I think if you always introduce her as Allison, people will follow suit.  Of course you won't be able to control what she decided to be called as an older child/ teen, but I am sure you realize that.
