I have had a couple appointments with Dr. Alvarez and am iffy if I should stay with him once I conceive. A red flag was that he told me I could continue to take one of my prescription medications while trying to conceive, stop taking it once I find out I'm pregnant, and then I can resume as needed after 17 weeks. I got three more opinions (my specialist on my condition, a second ob/gyn who I won't be able to stay with as she's too far for me, and a pharmacist)...each one told me to stay away from that medication even while I'm trying to conceive. I was told by the three that the only time I could take it is from the first day of my period to right before I ovulate, which ensures I am not pregnant while taking it. I understand he his a high-risk pregnancy doctor and has to be innovative to make strides in this area, but at what cost? I do have another doctor I can go to, who I hear is also great...but I wanted opinions/input on Dr. Alvarez before I give him up. Thank you!!
