I'm seeing a lot of cute cloth training pants on etsy ranging in price from 10-20 dollars. I'm wondering if they are worth the price and if you can recommend where you got yours.

I feel like they are worth it if you're starting potty training "early" where it can take months to get your child on a consistent routine of using the toilet. I waited until I knew my son was really ready for it, and would grasp it quite quickly. He was potty trained in a week, so purchasing trainers would have been a huge waste of money for me.
I think it's definitely personal opinion if they are worth the money, they can definitely be convenient, but underwear can work just as well for some kids right from the beginning.
My son just potty-learned and we went straight from cloth diapers to underwear. Trainers didn't seem worth it to me. We've had a few accidents but overall he has done great.
I bought 2 because they were cute. I wasn't planning on using them, but I decided that having them just in case validated the purchase of a couple. One can double as a nighttime cover in the meantime so it isn't a complete waste if we don't use them.
We just started potty learning this week with my 2.5 year old daughter. I reinforced the regular Gerber training pants with extra flannel and PUL. You can easily make them for less than $4 a pair. I followed the instructions at https://itsourlongstory.blogspot.com/2012/01/diy-cloth-training-pants.html You really only need 1/4 yard of PUL and if you use a 40-50% off coupon at Joann's, it is really cheap. Flannel is on sale this week for $2.99 a yard. We've had a few accidents, but the mess was MUCH smaller to clean up than with regular underwear. I have a pattern that I can put into a PDF if anyone is interested.
With my older son I just used the gerber training pants with a pull on cover when out and about or ON, but when just at home and then when he was having less frequent accidents I left off the cover.
With this LO, I do plan to get trainers since I think PT will be delayed due to ds's developmental delays.

Whatever you do don't get Best Bottom trainers, OMG they were awful. I love Best Bottoms so I thought I'd love the trainers....NOPE. We ended up going the regular undies route after fighting with the trainers for a couple weeks. He trained much better with undies.
Haha I got the best bottom trainers. We just used them for out of the house a few times, but she only had one accident the very first day. It soaked the insert and went right through to the floor. She pees a LOT tho bc she holds it so long so I figured what was the issue. What did you not like about them @abcoleslaw?
I feel like they didn't help him realize he was in trainers not dipes, so he'd still pee. This could be because we used BBs and it was a similar look with the snap in liner. The cool touch pad thing, isn't that absorb, so when he did pee....all over himself. They didn't contain anything. I ended up throwing a prefold in them for naps, but thats it. I also don't think they are as well made as the dipe covers. A couple times through the wash and I was sewing up small pulls and what nots. I don't know.

Stuff like this makes me wish I could sew. For real
Eh we had a stash of flip trainers because ds1 was in daycare and we wanted to start potty training but they were a waste. He didn't get it until we did just regular underwear or bare bottom time. We sold the whole stash because we were getting serious night time leaks. I couldn't get a good fit no matter what inserts we used in them to last ON and he had outgrown our fitteds.
IMO no. Once I decided it was time it only took 3 days for DD #1 to train. We went the route of completely naked from the waist down. Day 1 was 75% of the messes on the floor. Day 2 was 50% or less of the messes on the floor. Day 3 was almost all made it in the potty. And after that there were no more messes. For her she really did not like the feeling of going with no pants OR panties on. All I had to do was make it over the hump of the first 2 frustrating days of clean-up. FYI most of our home is wood floors and I stay at home.
