Is anyone else past 11 weeks still having bad morning sickness and losing weight? I have lost 8 lbs so far and have barely been able to eat for months now.
My doctor did prescribe me Zofran, I have taken it on a couple of days where I could not keep absolutely anything down. My biggest issue lately is absolutely no appetite (and getting sick if I eat when I'm not hungry). I do not like taking the Zofran because it seems to make my heart race and while my nausea is gone I still have no appetite.
I'm 11 weeks and I've lost 10 lbs so far. I was obese to begin with so I'm not worried. I'm taking Diclegis and Zofran to cut down on the vomiting but I'm still having a lot of food aversions and throwing up a few times a week.
I had awful m/s with my first 3 pregnancies. I lost 16 lbs, 11 lbs, and 8 lbs with them. The 2nd and 3rd pregnancies I had zofran to help me. I learned to eat something small, even if I felt like I had no appetite. That helps curb the nausea. Also, I would eat lemon drops or suck on lemon slices, because the acid in the lemon would help neutralize my stomach. Salt & vinegar chips did the same.
I will try the lemon, I have been using lemon candy (with little to no relief) but I have not tried using actual lemons. I have an appointment in a week so I plan on discussing it with my OB then. Snacking is really the only way I've been able to eat/keep anything down, but if you add everything I snack on in a day, it wouldn't equal to one full meal. I am not overweight or underweight, so I'm not super concerned, I'm just hoping this M/S will give up sometime soon, I had M/S with my previous pregnancy, but by this time it was gone and it was not nearly as bad. I lost probably about 3 pounds last time before feeling better and starting to gain.
I am 13 weeks and have lost 10 lbs from either no appetite or M/S. M/S seems to have subsided a bit, but I plan on discussing the weight loss with my OB tomorrow.
Let me know how it goes! I hope you get some relief soon!
I last got sick on Friday, so it's still lingering around for me, though not nearly as bad as it was in the 1st trimester. I went on Zofran to get me through several weeks. I lost 10 lbs and I'm finally starting to gain some back as of this week.
