How did you tell your DH/Partner?

We found out yesterday that we are pregnant.  I took a test around noon, but waited until my husband got home from work. I told him to close his eyes and hold out his hand. I put a small, newborn-size onesie in his hand that said "S is for Super, like my Dad." and Then told him to open his eyes and I blurted out "We're pregnant!" It took him a few seconds for it all to register. He was in shock (we've been trying for over two years and was beginning to think it wouldn't happen) but he was really happy.

i took a test a few days before my expected AF and it came back negative but a week later and still no period i decided to test again. I anxiously waited for DH to come home then ran to the bathroom (i knew he'd want to be there when i took the test) i didnt have high hopes since I already got a negative but to my utter shock and surprise it was a BFP. I was totally speechless and came out of the bathroom waving the stick at him bursting into hysterics. He came over and hugged and kissed me and kept asking are you sure are you sure??? in the middle of our moment the dog came over and sat on our feet and peed but i didnt even care.

Our son is only 16 months.  We had planned to start trying for baby number two in a few months.  We wanted DS to be 2 before the next one is born.  

DS and I had both been sick when I decided that maybe my sickness wasn't all cold/flu related. I told DH that I might take a test just to be sure.  DH fell asleep while I was putting DS to bed so I just peed on the stick by myself. BFP! So I taped a note to the bathroom mirror saying Baby C #2 is on it's way. 

In the morning DH woke me up after he saw the note. It was a sweet morning. (Even at 4:30 in the morning!)

We had been trying off & on for over 3 years, & were told IVF was our only chance.  I was lying in bed feeling nauseated for the 4th day in a row, and I was lying there thinking about how I was at least 5 days late for my period, so I tested.  I took 2 tests because I didn't believe it.  I just woke up my husband & said, "It looks like we are going to save $10,000!" he didn't even get excited at first because he just knew I was mistaken.  I had to show him the tests, that they were PREGNANCY, not ovulation, & that they weren't expired, THEN had to go get a First Response test to double check.  Ha!  But then he was really excited!  And shocked!   I thought about doing something cute for him when I was in the bathroom, but under our circumstances, I definitely had to tell him immediately!

On a Saturday night I told DH that I was going to test in the morning. I had gotten a negative a week earlier but AF still hasn't come. The next morning I took the test and was thrilled to see a positive. DH was already awake and in the guest bedroom reading a book. This is normal for Sunday mornings - the guest room tends to be the warmest in the house. He heard me running down the hallway and figured it put before I burst in the room. I sat down next to him and showed him the pee stick.

I am growing some sweet peas so I stuck the BFP in the dirt beside the sprouts and took a picture. When DH got home I said "look what we are growing!" and showed him the photo. He was having a bad day but his face lit up and he hopped up and gave me a big kiss. After that he couldnt stop smiling. He has been giving me googley eyes for weeks. Lol

I didn't really get to tell mine considering he forced me to take the test. He was already asking me "are you pregnant" so I just told him yes

Because we were undergoing fertility assistance and had a scheduled IUI he obviously knew all my appointments and what each one were for so he knew I had a blood test that day. Well the RE office took FOREVER to call, we're talking at 5 PM they still hadn't called and I was getting worried. (They usually call before 4 PM) Hubs even texted around 3:30 PM to say "thinking of you, if you want to talk about it when we're together I understand." Finally at 6 PM, minutes before I pull in to the driveway they called to tell me I was so I ran inside and woke him up from his nap by telling him he's going to be a Dad. Not in any way shape or form the way I had once thought I'd get to surprise him with the news but after 13 attempts, I just wanted him to know ASAP and it was still the best thing I ever got to say to him outside of "I do!."

We woke DS up together to get him ready for the day and I kept calling him big brother. It took a while but then DH asked why I was doing that and I told him it was because he is a big brother. Then I stuck the pee stick in his face!

Ha, this is almost exactly what I did, except it was two Wednesdays ago. We had just gotten home from a trip, and I took a Wondfo. Super faint, so I showed him and was like "do you see that?". He did, but it was so faint...

So the next morning I got up early while he was getting ready for work and used a digi. I wanted to do it before he went to work because I knew if I found out while he was gone, I'd end up telling him over the phone or something and I wanted to see his reaction. So when the digi said "pregnant", I went and stood next to him while he was brushing his teeth. He didn't see me, so when he finally noticed me there, he practically jumped through the ceiling. LOL. Anyway, I showed him the test and we were both excited.

I was in BC and went on an antibiotic.... So after I POAS a million times we went to my parents for dinner.

"So... I uhh... Apparently antibiotics can cancel out birth control..." Took a few minutes for him to speak to me.. But he handed it better than I thought!

(Everyone should know we were Not trying and he was totally content with just DD. He was not mad and he is pretty excited now... It was just a big shock to him!)

We were on holiday in Israel. We'd been TTC for 2.5 years. I'd brought some tests along so I could test before AF was due to get rid of any false hope since my cycles are irregular. But didn't think it would happen.

I forgot to do the test for a few days after AF was due, and had spotting but my temps were still up, so I was like ok lets just get this over with. Did the test, got the BFP and half screamed half mumbled "babe I think I'm pregnant" from the hotel room ensuite.

DH didn't believe it at first. He wouldn't use the "P word". Until the third test all he would say was "we have received a positive on a pregnancy test", it took three tests over three days for him to say "We're pregnant".

This is our "surprise" baby. It will be our 3rd. I've recently been telling everyone "eh, another baby? Maybe in 3-5 years"

So when I was late I burst into tears and was upset cause I was FINALLY going to buy some new clothes and bras. (We have a 2.5 y.o. and 1 y.o.) It sounds selfish, but we've had a very hard year with our second son. Anyway, my husband was the picture of calmness and smiled and said "it will be ok. You're a great mom and we're good together!"
He's been wonderful and now that we are telling family I am getting more excited!

since it was #3 I really wanted it to be a surprise, which was hard because he kept asking me when we could test, it took us longer than it did with either of our others so he was really wanting us to get pregnant.

I found out on St. Patricks day, which we were leaving for a vacation where he was going to go hiking with a buddy for 4 days/3 nights. He left the next day and I put, " Our Irish blessing will arrive Nov 24 2014" Baby already loves you on a paper and stuffed it in his pack. So he found out about halfway though

We were doing fertility cycles so it kind of took the fun out of the whole telling DH the good news. Basically I called him and told him "hey guess what my beta is 92 we are pregnant yay!"

I wanted so bad to do something cute but couldn't wait to put my plan in place.  We were doing laundry and I threw the digital test under the first layer of clothes.  It kept falling down and when he finally got it he was like why did you wash one of your pee sticks lol He then read it and was excited.

I had a "slumber" party with my mom, daughter and 3 cousins. I realized about half way through the evening that I was late. Every since I got my cycle back since having my daughter it is like clockwork. I told my mom the next morning that I needed to make a stop after church. I tested as soon as we got back. I was shocked that it was positive (took us 2 years to get preggo with DD). We had been trying but more like just not preventing the previous couple of months. When my husband got to my mom's I called him into the bathroom and said hey look at this and pulled the test out of the closet. He said "Really? We're pregnant?" Then asked me to take another one to make sure.

We always knew that wanted to add to our blended family so we had decided that after our first anniversary in October that we would kind of just "let things be" and if it happened it happened.  I am pretty regular, except when I'm sick and when I was 10 days late this month I attributed it to a stomach bug that had been going aroung work.  I tested after work while in the midst of waiting for a snack to cook in the oven bc, in all honesty, it was a "just in case" and I was fully expecting a BFN because I had been sick.  Guess I had my own kind of stomach bug!!  I called DH upstairs right away and he thought he was in trouble, I showed him the test and we both teared up.  Not so romantic, but a beautiful surprise just the same.  And now he keeps calling it "Little Totino" because we were baking pizza rolls.  SMH love him.

The first time I was all nervous and excited. My husband works shift work so I stayed up late that night so I could tell him. I was just doing laundry and was like "guess what..... we're pregnant" he call me a liar lol. I made him go into the bathroom to see the two tests I took. It was so exciting I couldn't go to sleep that night.

This time (since we had a MC with the first) I took a test when I got home and when he walked in the kitchen I just said "hey there mister, you knocked me up again" and started laughing. We had been trying so we were waiting on the BFP. He still had to run into the bathroom to check the test though. All very exciting but not romantic or cutesy.

I left the pee stick on the counter so he would see it when he brushed his teeth.

DH leaves for work 1 1/2 hrs before I do. So when I got up and got a big fat positive I snapped a pic and sent it to him saying "That means pregnant." I think he was more excited than I was!
