Bearing weight

Another question for you ladies: Anyone's LO not bearing weight on their legs? My LO never really rolled over and she does not bear weight on her legs that much. She will for a few seconds but then bends her legs. We had to see a neurosurgeon for a possible tethered cord (we got an all clear on that and will follow up in a year for another MRI) and when I mentioned our concerns about her gross motor development he said it was no big deal and not to worry just yet. He said that bigger babies are typically later in those milestones.

I'm on mobile so I can't see how old your LO is. I recall the CDC's guideline is to talk with your pediatrician if LO isn't bearing weight on their legs at nine months. I wouldn't worry until then - things can change so fast!

  • She turned 9 months on Thursday. She has been sitting great since 6 months. She doesn't crawl yet but my older daughter didn't crawl until 10.5 months. She is as strong as an ox. Seriously, super strong. She can knock you would when she gets excited and flails her arms around and her leg strength is just as strong. I am just worried about the connection between.

  • Have you tried letting her stand holding onto a piece of furniture? I would probably bring it up at your 9 month appointment but not worry about calling before then. My cousin's LO would not stand when his parents held him up, he would always pull his legs to sit. But would cruise around furniture no problem on his own.
