Oscar Predictions, anyone?

I saw American Hustle in the theater, we watched Dallas Buyers Club last night, and I am half-way through Captain Philips... any predictions?

My predictions :

12 Years a Slave = Best Picture

Matt McConaghy =  Best Actor

Jared Leto OR Barkhad Abdi = Best Supporting Actor

Lupita Nyong = best supporting actress

That's all I got - I'm not that familiar with the rest of the movies or nominees!

Can I just say my husband and I watched wolf of wallstreet and it was terrible! The Acting was still good but it was hard to watch!!

I heard it was basically just porn.    I still really want to see Nebraska and 12 Years, but obviously won't until after tonight!

I cringed when watching Wolf of Wall Street & Gravity. I also didn't see 12 years a Slave because I read the book & it was hard to swallow. Plus I didn't want to get mad at my white friends ) . But seriously I didn't see any of the other movies but I'm hoping my imaginary girlfriend Jennifer Lawrence wins!

Lol the movie wasnt as graphic as the book but it was still hard to watch. I don't think it will win anything nominated maybe.

Dallas was... Well the story is interesting and acting awesome,
Great to see Matthew Mcconaghy in a different role than "sweaty southern playboy", but I thought it wasn't very well written or produced. Lots of sloppy storytelling and lack of plot development. Worth watching though - I'd never heard the story before. Jared Leto is also awesome in it.

My DH took DS grocery shopping and left me home, so I used this precious free time to...watch the trailers for all of the Best Picture nominees, since I saw exactly 0 movies in the theatre in 2013. A lot of them look really intense and at least half of them made me tear up, but the one I personally would most like to see? "Her."

That could be the upset that wins... it wouldn't surprise me... it looks really good, and different, which I always like.

I'm watching it ONLY to see her perform.  I kinda want to let my 3 year old stay awake to see it but I doubt that is going to happen.

Usually I"m not even close - this year seemed very cut and dried to me.
