Baby Names

Any double name lovers?

Not expecting at the moment :) when we were deciding on names in 2012 for baby #1 we had decided on a double name if we had a girl. We had a beautiful baby boy and opted out of a DN for him. I just love baby names so much that I like to have a list in mind and handy just in case. Any of you sweet Mommys have double names that you LOVE?

  • Our baby girl is named Sadie Faye. That's first and middle name and we say both (at least for now)
  • Mary Eleanor
    and
    Mary Kathleen
are are my list (DH and I can't decide which we like better)

Also, a good friend has a little girl Lilly Frances and I really like that combo, though Lilly is entirely too popular.  A friend in college was Martha Marie, which I really like too.

    I love double names.

I know of a girl Celia Grace and I just love it! I also love Mary Kate.

    Also:
    Mary Claire
    Claire Marie
    Anna Claire
    Anna Kate

I don't consider the fact that you primarily call your LO by fn and mn together as a dn though. To me, it needs to be hyphenated or intentionally (like on birth certificate) as two names used as first name paired with a middle name. Don't get me wrong... I think it's cute to refer to LO by fn and mn, I just don't think it counts as a dn. :)

It does seem a bit clunky for a first name. I think it is fine as a first and middle though.@hischelseababy
  • Some I know of:

    Ava Kate
    Hazel Kate
    Hadley Quinn

I love Mary Grace, but probably wouldn't use it myself because I already know one.
  • Mary Avery is also another one I just remembered.

  • If we were having a girl we were seriously considering Hadley Grace as a name. We would have had it as a first and middle but used it as a double name. I am from originally from South Carolina but I think 4 names is too much. Especially in the south where everything is monogrammed. Most monograms consist of three letters. Would  you leave out the second half of the double name or leave out the middle name?  I love the way double names sound but just think of your child filling out paperwork.

I love a lot of these. I like them without a hyphen an with 3 names total instead of making 4. Gotta keep those monograms in mind
  • My favorites are Mary Claire, Mary Reid, Charlee Kate, Clara Jane. Favorite is Mary Claire but I fear that it's too much of a mouth full with our last name. Hubby doesn't like Mary at all. Charlee Kate and Clara Jane are his picks, but I can't commit
  • this baby is going to be Anna Katherine double first name. Probably (almost definitely) will be called Anna Kate.
