Knut? I just saw this name for a newborn on my Facebook feed. Not a friend of mine, and no middle name. It was a baby boy.

Actually, you pronounce the K.  K-noot.  

(ETA:  At least you do in German and I believe in the Scandinavian languages also.)

I know Ka-newt is the more authentic pronunciation, but I prefer it with a silent K as in knife.
