What other common grammatical errors piss you off?
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.
Oh lord I do a lot of editing for my job, and I come across some doozies. I really hate when people say "I could care less". Pretty sure you mean to say that you couldn't care less. Or the infamous your, you're, and to, too, two usage.
I hate run on sentences. Sometimes they are hard to avoid, and I know I'm guilty of them when I'm word barfing all over TB or FB. They really drive me nuts when I come across them while proofreading my boss's writing. I know he's better than that!
This woman who is very dear to me and has worked for years in a professional role says "pacifically" instead of "specifically."
It's the valley girl equivalent of "axe".
PG#1 - 3rd cycle BFP. Team Green. HELLP syndrome @ 34 weeks. Later diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, possible link to HELLP.

Beta's doubled every 52 hours from 3w5d-5w5d Viable pregnancy scan at 5w5d; 2nd u/s showed 2 days of growth in 7 but a HB of 120 3rd u/s on 3/10/14 had no HB and baby had only grown 7 days over 14 D&C 3/17/14 - complications - DX Retroflexed uterus, multiple tears to cervix
All of them!!!! Bad grammar really cheeses me off! DH does not have the same conviction about this that I do. I' m constantly getting texts that say, "I now" and other such nonsense. It's all I can do to refrain from texting back and asking what he is now doing.
Fucking listen to yourselves people. What are intensive purposes?
For those of you that have no idea what you're saying, it's supposed to be "for all intents and purposes."

I also hate, "a whole nother..." Nother is not a word.
YES! I had a coworker that did this and it drives me insane.

More words than grammar, but it really bugs me when people use the word mad when they mean angry.

I've said this in another thread on TTGP once before, but I don't like the misspelling of y'all. It's a contraction of you and all, therefore it's y'all not ya'll.
Are you sure it's not you's?
ETA: I'm tired and just realized they're not even the same thing. But my point stands because they're both dumb.

I hate when people say "reoccuring" when they mean a repeating event. The word is recurring.
And my parents say to DD "what 'cho got" all the time. I know it sounds adorable when she says it but please, for the love of God, speak properly around her so she can learn!
Irregardless. What does that even mean? Do they mean it should be regarded?

My manager always writes isle instead of aisle. We work in cubicles and if we have a meeting he will send an email saying make sure everyone from your isle is there. Drives me crazy!
This whole thread makes my skin crawl lol My mom and SO say " I could care less " and I just want to turn my head the exorcist and yell. My SO always uses "there" for all three uses in texts. I wont respond except with a *their *they're it annoys him, but maybe one day he will catch on.
Baby Gibson is due October 8th! (Bfp: January 29th)
Seriously. I hate when people over correct and use "I" in place of "me" all the time, for example "He gave it to Shelly and I." "Me" is a perfectly good word and is the correct choice sometimes!
And "I feel badly." No, you feel bad. If you felt badly I'd be worried about your nervous system.
All the over corrections that become so common even educated people start using them as default... *shudder*
My grammar is terrible. So can I just apologize in advance for all my terrible grammar in my posts. I try really hard but I am dyslexic I would say mildly so and I did so much work when I was was younger to over come my switching letters and learning how to spell in school I just never spent much time learning grammar. A lot of my time for English when I was younger was spent taken out of class working with a specialist. I went on to take AP classes in high school, and get a bachelors and masters in accounting. But my grammar is terrible.
I am clearly the only person who enjoys these mishaps. I studied Linguistics and would like to consider myself a descriptivist. When someone uses grammar in a way that is not 'correct,' it can tell me about the area he is from, educational background, and even social groups. As a teacher, I do enforce the correct usages, but as a person it doesn't bother me.
EXCEPT that my MIL uses 'him' in the nominative. "Him so cute." She does it as part of her baby talk, and not because of how she grew up speaking. The reason it bothers me so much is that DD was talking like that and writing it on her school papers until she was 8 because she thought it was correct.

Mother F-er I knew i spelled "aisle" wrong yesterday in a post. I just couldn't think of any other way to spell it and didn't care to google... Shame on me.
I'm not bothered by too much grammatically. I hate reading ridiculously misspelled and nonsensical fb posts but I've learned to not even bother getting the headache b/c most likely the post was stupid anyway and wasn't worth the 15 mins trying to decipher what the heck they were trying to say. But one word drives me absolutely insane, it's like nails on a chalkboard for me: MINES... I HATE HATE HATE that word! It's already possessive, it doesn't need an S! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I'm another one who hates the misuse of less and fewer. Easy way to remember, if it has an 'is' don't use less. It doesn't always work, but gives a boost in the right direction.
Also, you can't add a qualifier to unique. It can't be VERY unique, MORE unique, or REALLY unique. Unique is unique.
This is more spelling but I hate it when people mix up breathe and breath. It seems getting it right is more the exception than the rule.
My cousins swim team shirts said "you can breath later" on the back. They all realized it after they were already wearing them. It's pretty impressive.

@ellyd14 I love everything about this thread! My siggy says it all- I hate the your vs you're but I am much more tolerant since marrying my husband who is an atrocious speller and has poor grammar. I.e. whife and momy are just some samples.
Using "Ya" instead of "Yeah" as a response. Why do I know so many people that do this??? Also, regional slang words that just sound dumb: crick for creek. Ky-dotee for coyote. Cashuh for cache. Perch-er-ony for Percheron. OMG, I cant keep going.

Adding an r where it doesn't belong. Torlet and woursh are the two big ones, but I know there are more.

My DH's family is THE WORST at the English language. They say "Oh, hims didn't know.' or 'Hers doesn't feel well.' WTF PEOPLE!? It's 'HE didn't know.' 'SHE doesn't feel well.' WHERE DID YOU COME FROM? And they only talk like that when they are talking about their dogs. IT MAKES NO SENSE.

I am guilty of bad grammar from time to time and I apologize. I am totally Team Ya'll (it is how we do it down here in the swamp).
Mine is prolly = probably. Nope not even close.
It is hard to watch the news here some days because the people they interview can Not speak well at all. It is really sad.
And no you can not axe me a question! I do not like being axed.
Oh, and for the most part I hate text language. My one major exception is omg because that one just works for me.
