How to not hate work

I have struggled with going back to work and have been back to work now for almost 5 months.  Sure the routine of being back to work has gotten easier and leaving her at the day home has gotten easier and obviously I like to have the additional income, but I hate being back to work.  The job I have is intense with a specific culture and there are changes coming that will make being there even harder.  I have been looking for new work since prior to going back with no luck thus far.  I dont see a point in switching to a job unless it has potential to make me happier not equally miserable if that makes sense.  Any suggestions for how to not dread it so much while I look for another job or try to have another baby.

  • i completely and totally agree with everything MrsMuq has said.  i felt this way when i had to go back to work when the twins were 5 months old.  i felt depressed, guilty and resented my job for taking me away from my babies.  i thought about quitting every effing day...but quitting was not an option for us.  i could not keep being miserable b/c i was bringing it home, so i began to focus on the positives of working - as cheesy as that sounds.  as MrsMuq said, the extra income i bring home allows our kids to have and enjoy certain things that would not be possible with just one income.

  • Thanks ladies.  Just found out this am that we are expecting...very early days but very excited.  I think that having a light at the end of the tunnel at least for awhile will help me to focus more on the positives of being at work
