Is this new? "Pin It" on sig pics?

I purposely don't have any pics in my sig for privacy reasons, but this morning I've noticed that as I scroll through posts a lot of your pics now have the "pin it" option, and when I tried it to see if it worked, it does. Anyone can pin you sig pics onto their Pinterest pages. Were you guys aware of that and consent to it or Is that a new Bump thing? 

Ignore if this is old news or no big deal, I'm not on often lately, but I saw it and would be seriously annoyed if it were me without my consent.

Desktop, usually I'm mobile, so I didn't know if it was old and I was just noticing, but I see if on both of your pics if I hover over them. Maybe because the "Pin It" button installed on my Google Chrome, but I've had that for a while and am just noticing this.

This does not show up for me so I'm assuming it is because you have something installed.  But that is super scary!

Hmm.  I'm not seeing it on the pictures in the post, but if I select the "Pin It" option that I have in my bookmarks, siggy pictures pop up as items that I can pin.  Not sure I like that so much.

That would make sense, but other website's pics don't show up with that option, and the Bump's pics never did until today.

I have the pin it button installed, too, but I don't see this. Odd... I also use Google Chrome, but I haven't updated to the newest version, so perhaps that has something to do with it.

I think its a plug in with Chrome/Pinterest.  But I'm sure that everyone is well aware that the pics they upload or have in there signature are available for anyone on the internet who comes across them to download.

Hmm... I don't see it on mine. Technically, it's not THAT scary because the Pin It button you can add to your browser has always allowed anyone the ability to pin any photo on any website, unless additional security has been added to the website or photos themselves. Photos aren't safe on the Internet.

Yeah this is true.  I guess I never thought about others being able to pin things to Pinterest though.

Ah, so you have the Pin It applet installed? That makes sense then. If TB was suddenly adding this button, I'd want to bring it up.

That's what I thought, too. Sorry then, no big deal I guess! It never happened before with the Pin It, but maybe it's a new thing. 

I agree, if you have pics you know they can be taken, but if the Bump was allowing something new I just wanted to let people know.

I'm glad you said something! I'd definitely want to bring it up with the Bump Godz if it was something new!

FWIW I have the Pin It button on my browser but don't see the Pin It option when I hover over anyone's siggy pics. I am using IE7.

sempre_staccato is right about the Pin It button allowing you to pin pretty much anything, anyway.

Yes, the Pin it does show up on all photos for me as well. Using the latest Google Chrome and yes I have the Pin It Button installed on my browser but this didn't happen until the other day. I have no idea why it's doing that but like PP said, you can basically do this to any picture that is out there on the web - so if you don't want your photos available to anyone but you, I'd suggest not posting them. Sadly, that's how the world is going.
