So all I have is a rectal one. Which worked great, but is kind of weird to use now that she's so big! The forehead one has mixed review, same for the ear one. Which one that you have that is just GREAT. I'm willing to pay $$ for a REALLY good accurate fast one.
Here are the three that I have found, the first one has good reviews on BRU website:
Re: thermometer rec for toddler
?
Ditto. ?We've used one of these from day one. ?So much easier.?
So Tasty, So Yummy
I actually have one of the forehead ones and love it. I do figure it a bit low though but it gives me a ballpark for if he is running one.
But, it's so much easier and it's fast!
We just use the under arm one, as well. That's what they did when DS was at TCH as a newborn, so we actually just use the ones from the hospital (works faster than the Parents brand one we were given).
The best way to measure a temp is through core temps. This means either orally or rectally. Ear thermometers or the wands across the head called temporal thermometers have evidence that show they are as accurate as flipping a coin. This is also true for putting thermometers under the arm pit. Until your daughter can have a child in her mouth, they should always be checked rectally. Hope this helps!
