Horrible cold!

Hello Ladies. I have been battling with a horrible cold for the last few days. 
I lost my voice..horrible head/chest congestion and cough. No fun! I was wondering what were some home remedies that some of you might use. I have tried the hot tea with honey and lemon and I have also tried the vicks on my chest. I am starting to feel somewhat better, but it feels like I just keep inserting medicine into my body and I hate that feeling. With my 1st child I barely took Tylenol for a headache. I have been using cough drops, Sudafed and I have taken one dose of Delysm cough syrup. As I said, I was just wondering on some good home remedies. Thanks for any and all help!
